Any of the shoes that Mastermind Japan x Visvim collaborated on.

They're all the just right amount of influence from both houses.

I also enjoyed the MMM x Converse collab, and was pretty pleased when I looked them over in person. The quality looks solid, and the design aspect is super appealing. Though I'd be curious to know where the leather is sourced from and where they're produced.

Also, just about any Takahiro Miyashita collab, with any of his lines, have been great.

Wish I was on my laptop so I could post some more, I've got an entire folder dedicated to collaborations.

That's pretty accurate, it's well-played satire as far as I can tell. I don't care for much solely by Mastermind, but like I said, those Mastermind x Visvim collabs definitely have something to them aesthetically.

Not a chance in hell I'd pay full price for them, but I still enjoy them.

you know sure, that probably applies to other things, but not mastermind japan. it's expensive because that the intended niche. it's simple trashy (stylewise, not qualitywise) garments that you'd find at HM, but at a price anyone would ridicule. that's really just the thing. certain social circles in japan are really into it, and that's why it exists.

all of that forms a cool interpretation, but one that does not match up at all with what you can gleam from interviews. it's a distortion of what we do know about the brand.

that said, it might be an accurate description of the mentality of MMJ's buyers.

as for whether Masaaki Homma is bright, or what his work for Yohji signifies... well, first things first, he worked in SALES for Yohji. And if the impression he left with you, from his interviews, is one of being very intelligent, then I guess we have different readings of those interviews.

It's an interesting brand. Maybe a brilliant one (or maybe an unintentionally brilliant one; hard to say). But I'm not convinced that it's more than a mild curiosity from a design perspective.

It's not a "troll" though, trunks and friends are right to point that out.

some of the other designs from the collab are pretty attainable like these derby's in pic related. There's a pair in black on ebay right now for $160, but rarely do I see the black sk8 hi's come up for sail.
