How the fuck do I into boots? I bought a pair of 1000s and immediately returned them because they made me look like I was 50. No doubt they're good boots, but I need something less polished.

So where can I find something more rugged for lack of a better word? I've been looking at 877s (pic related), but I don't know still. So anything slightly more youthful, under 350 preferably, and not plastic leather.

half the fun of wearing boots is beating the shit out of them and taking a look of their own. red wings will break in fast but the horween on the 1ks looks beautiful after about a year of wear

Let me guess, someone called your 1000s "dadcore" and then you got cold feet. The 1000s aren't dressy to any degree, they are great looking casual boots.

If you want a nudge in the right direction, take a look at the Chippewa Service boots. Great looking things. Other people here like the Red Wings 875s and IRs.

It's really hard to find great quality boots with a great silhouette. I've been looking at different ones for a couple of months, and still, nothing. I ought some IRs but they looked like fucking flippers and the toe box was too wide for my liking which pissed me off because I really like them. I Was looking at the 9111s, but I still just don't fucking know.

I don't love the 1k mile, there's not an ounce of fun in it. but I have no taste, so take what I say with a grain of salt

so anyway, what I'm saying is, I'm all about the mocs

they'll still make you look like a grandad, but a cool grandad at least

that said, I have the kudu indy boots, and they're awesome boots (needed something for Canadian Winter, I didn't pick the kudu for style), I'm very impressed with them. Super comfy out of the box too

I don't feel the same way

it's just a comfy variety of shoe that isn't as expensive to make (getting comparable materials, comfort, etc in a standard boot always seems to cost a lot more)

you couldn't walk around in them much without some kind of outsole on it, I don't just want to wear them as slippers (or for hunting deer or whatever it is moccasins are good for)

besides, hybrids are always cool. wearing normal mocs, normal boots, normal sneakers, etc, is a recipe for boredom
