use a hair dryer and dry in the direction you're going to style it in, i use my fingers to brush it back instead of a comb because it gives a bit more texture then a small amount of american crew pomade and if it's still not sitting right a bit of american crew fiber too

any general tips for hair products and using a blow-dryer to get volume and 'lift'? my hair is heavy and loves to go flat, but whenever I get a haircut my hair stylist does this whole routine with two different products, a blow dryer, and continuous lifting of the hair and shaping with her hands, and it comes out fantastic and lasts for a good hour or two in that shape before settling down a bit
