This reflected well in their careers as Nigo built and marketed a hype empire while Jun eventually took his design work to Paris.

A young Rick Owens. He originally worked as a pattern drafter for a company that produced knock off's of designer pieces. The job prepared him immensely for his future career as he had access to a massive quantity of designer clothing that he could examine up close and then replicate. On top of this he had to complete his work within very tight time frames so that the clothing could be returned to the high end boutiques it was purchased from. The experience made him an expert pattern maker.

Some of his customers during this time include Burton Snowboards and the German military. Eventually him and his business partner Michaela Sachenbacher shifted the focus on Acronym into becoming its own brand. In a way Errolson still continues to do freelance design work as he's also the head designer for C.P. Company's Stone Island: Shadow Project line as well as Italian heritage brand Herno Laminar.

Alexandre Plokhov, originally from Russia, Plokhov has been based in New York City since the 90's. He broke onto the scene with his critically lauded and cult label Cloak. However after less than a dozen seasons, Cloak went bankrupt in 2007. Plokhov's assistant at the time, Robert Geller successfully started his own brand afterward while Plokhov disillusioned with the industry and the struggle of producing in USA disappeared for a few years before surprisingly taking the lead role at Versace's menswear line. His work at Versace was well lauded but after a handful of seasons he decided to get back to doing what he does best and today once again owns and manages his own label, now eponymously named.

Carol Christian Poell. Originally from Austria, but based in Italy. He grew up working in his step father's clothing factory and had the skills to be considered a master tailor by age 18. He continued his education with an MA in fashion design. Originally interested in pursuing a career as a designer showing at Paris fashion week, CCP courted a lot of attention around 98-02 including Karl Lagerfeld who wore his clothes extensively before becoming enamoured with Dior Homme a number of years later. After half a dozen seasons of engaging the press and showing publicly CCP has isolated himself more and more over the years. Some of his last engagements with the press had him express a sentiment of extreme hatred and disgust with the fashion industry. Today he designs without seasons, releases his work when it's completed, and sells to only a handful of stores the world over. He does not engage the public and the entirety of his time is spent in his workshop on the outskirts the industrial district in Milan.

Arguably the only American brand in it's tier, Chrome Hearts produces massive quantities of high quality furniture, leather goods, and jewelry at their atelier / factory in Hollywood, California. Richard used to sell leather and represented tanneries all over the world and has an intimate connection with Italy in this regard. Maurizio Altieri originally worked at Chrome Hearts before going on to found his own label Carpe Diem. The Starks are also good friends with Rei Kawakubo which was how Chrome Hearts got started in Japan, Rei showcased it at her flagship store in Aoyama for a season and it took off from there. Today there are more Chrome Hearts stores in Japan than anywhere else in the world.

Dries Van Noten. Another of the Antwerp Six. Both his father and grandfather were tailors and clothing shop owners. His grandfather actually specialized in taking apart old suits piece by piece and then turning the entire thing inside out and sewing it back together. At one point in time this was more economical than buying a new suit after your current one had been worn down. Dries is notable for being one of the few large Paris designers that is completely self financed. He's turned down countless offers to be bought out and to this day continues to build a business that supports itself rather than relying on backers. He's also an avid gardener.

Luca Laurini of Label Under Construction. Luca comes from a long line of Italian knitwear producers but could be considered the black sheep of his family. He studied fashion at FIT in New York City and prior to Label Under Construction, worked for cult label Carpe Diem. His work is mostly focused on pushing the extremes of knitwear for which Laurini has an extensive knowledge. Some of his techniques have included deliberately breaking knitting machines or using randomized equations when programming his machines in order to achieve the results he desires.

we should have threads like these that also focus on other designers' works -particular seasons' image dumps per thread and hopefully discussions of that designer and their works- on a regular basis like bimonthly or fortnightly
it could be any design house hell even hilfiger or lumen et umbra
thoughts? even judging /fa/'s state and tendencies?

Nicolas Andreas Taralis. Born in Toronto, Canada, Taralis decided he needed to go New York for school and studied at Parsons for 2 years before deciding he actually needed to go to Europe where he studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, under Helmut Lang who was in charge of the program at the time. After that he became Hedi Slimane's assistant at Dior Homme and many believe he had strong influence over the handful of seasons he was at the house, most importantly the Lustre collection (AW03-04). Shortly after, Taralis left Dior and started his own eponymous label which he has managed ever since.

Takahiro Miyashita, formerly of Number (N)ine, now of The Soloist. Known for being very shy and introspective, Miyashita has rarely engaged the press. He's good friends with Jun Takahashi of Undercover, the two used to be in a band together and love to discuss music.

> Miyashita has rarely engaged the press

this is bullshit

he just faded away in recent years

here he is at the height of his label/high-ish fashion street wear years in a Japanese E-mook "high fashion"

Since when does rarely mean never? The point is out of everyone in his design sphere he is by far the most cloistered.
