Function and look-wise, these.
High enough for some moderate snow and rain. Leather makes it water-resistant. Velcro makes it easy to take on and off. Looks good, although I've never seen fits with shorts on...

I reckon low docs (1461) are pretty much the most versatile shoes out there. can be formal, can be casual can look both smart or rebellious and easy to match with stuff. not saying they're the nicest shoes around but they fit in almost all scenarios, become v. comfy to walk in and will last ages (m.i.e at least).
