I need a really versatile jacket for when it's too hot to wear my down bomber but too cold to just wear a shirt. Waist length is necessary: nothing longer like an overcoat or even a peacoat.
I want to be able to wear it with most stuff: boots, derbies or sneakers, jeans or chinos... I dress mostly workwear or basic/somewhat prep.
Water resistance isn't required but still appreciated; I don't like pockets with zippers, two pockets on the side for my hands would be enough.
I don't have a clue about which style I'd like as long as it's simple, not overdesigned and versatile.
Price range is around 230 bucks, items on sale included. Do you have any ideas?

Yeah I'm pretty bummed about that. I like Engineered Garments as well since they cater to the workwear-ish aesthetic in this thread but they're pretty pricey too. I'm willing to shell out for lower quality to an extent but I wouldn't know where to start.
