it depends on what you wear. vans and cons are two shoes I would stay away from blues in. I generally stick to white, black, grey or some kind of pattern (Vans Van Doren or patterned Jack Purcell Cons for summer).

If you're going cons I'd say to look into the Jack Purcells, if you're going vans, then I'd recommend getting the Era or california. For both avoid shoes that have contrast stitching and keep it simple

Yeah, but away from /fa/ theres nothing really wrong with that for most people. from how basic his comment is he's clearly just someone drifting through needing help. If he stays and ends up wanting to become more /fa/, next time he needs a pair of shoes he'll have higher aspirations, but if he just drifts off back to /mu/ or /out/ or /b/ or whereever, at least he'll have a basic shoe that fits in and looks (relative to even cheaper options) nice.
