What do you all think of punk fashion and ear gauging? When I speak of punk fashion, I don't mean boutique shit, I mean real d.i.y. punk get-ups.

>Ear gauging
>That gaudy ass jacket

keep punk in the 70s. i find that ear gauging looks intimidating. and probably a big regret.

>ear gauges
>punk
choose one and only one.

>Thinking punk was d.i.y
>Thinking punk kids didn't throw their moneys like crazy into Vivienne Westwood, which at that time was under label SEX and later Seditionary
>Thinking the d.i.y doesn't come from the fact that most punks were poor kids from poor families and if their jeans or jacket ripped, they had to either keep it that way or fix them themselves, because they threw all their moneys into Vivienne.

Now, the thing is, you're not poor and if you'll go DIY and dress like punk when obviously you don't have the ideology or mindset of punk, you'll just look like a poser or a creep to almost everyone, except other posers.

You want to dress punk, dress that way to fests and concerts of punk bands.

I quite like it especially on skinny folk.

Here's a punk inspired fit >>7456112

I think the way a person dresses shouldn't always be to visually please. I think these punk jackets are a great visual disturbance, considering how few here are today.

I would call myself poor. And even if I had money, I wouldn't blow it on designer trash. I really don't think designer fashion can be called punk, I think it goes against what punk actually is.

punk *inspired* clothing isn't necessarily and often isn't genuine punk. Similarly you can dress in a punk inspired outfit without people thinking you're really a punk and no you don't need to have the 'punk mindset', that's just some pretentious shit right there. Do you need to play tennis to wear polo shirts, or play basketball to wear hi tops?

I think that leather jacket is absolutely retarded. dress punk if you want, but fuck please not like that

i think the business/technicality as well as the mood of punk clothing rightfully inspires a lot of great designers today. I don't think outright punk is very relevant anymore, but it still inspires a lot of dope styles and fits imo. of course Undercoverism comes to mind as well as early raf

When you say 'punk-inspired' that looks to me more like 80's Californian hardcore punk, not 70's King's Road punk like OP.
