Idk about you guys but my city had a shit ton of fashion books and those are only the ones that kind of interested me personally, of course I didn't look through every single one but yeah if you guys really want to read fashion books don't limit yourself to a list of shit that interested me, go to your library or chapters bookstore or whatever and have fun in the fashion section srs

Also to add to the list in recent reads, The Anatomy of Fashion is good, kind of like The Language of Fashion but much newer an more comprehensive (was published like a few months ago) as opposed to The Language of fashion which is like a 30 year old collection of essays, also someone here suggested "The Fashion System" I think

Also "The Fashionable Mind" was an interesting read but I never finished it so can't really comment on how informative it is but they are first hand essays somewhat written like a diary entry by a fashion editor i think? During the 70s or something idk don't remember it was like the first fashion book I picked up and don't remember if it covers Yohji and Rei's Paris debut in 81 but if it did I'd imagine that would be a really good read too

Also idk who added the last book on Jewelry making lol

Collectingknowledge.tumblr.com I just post shit I read that I really like but alot of it is about design philosophy I think? So u gotta dig through if ur not interested in design but I think overall it can give u a better general understanding or appreciation of fashion beyond "sick fits" and "cops"

I get sad though cuz I post something that really touched me then nobody likes or reblog it then some asshole comes along and reblogs a generic Yohji quote thats been posted elsewhere on tumblr 10000 times then it gets like 1K notes and retards remove the source and add gay shit like "follow me for black fashions" and im like wtf

Also kind of relsted but I fucking hate it when i see the Yohji quote about the colour blak because it's true but true in the way he and other designers use black with ambiguous silhouettes and flow but then 99% of retarsa who read it take it as some kind of official approval to associate their black clothes with sophistication, like fuck u black can be mysterious and arrogant but ur fucking leather givenchy sneakers and snapback and other fugly black shit isnt sophisticatwd just bcuz its black
