I know that /fa/ generally likes Red Wing boots, but I was wondering if you guys had any fit pics of particular favourite models you guys have. I want to buy a pair but I can't decide which ones I like, currently looking at the 875 Moc Toe or 8111 Iron Rangers

They don't just suck for snow; when walking on really polished flagstone in the rain or just after for example, it can also be very slippery.
The relatively smooth soles doesn't really help that compared with more lugged soles.

yeah, and the cork is naturally pretty low friction. we got like 2 inches a few weeks ago and then it all was just barely starting to melt, so all the sidewalks and parking lots had this super slick layer of wet snow on it. i could glide over it frictionlessly, like take three running steps and slide for like 40 feet in a perfectly static pose. they might suck at being practical but it was fucking awesome sliding everywhere like a figure skater while plebs slugged about in the slush.

I wish those fucks at RW would just release a model variant with commado soles. I know that, when you get a resole, you can request for them to put the same sole the Beckman has on it. I've heard that isn't all that much better though.
