i think youre misinterpreting things you like as expensive things - maybe that's true but i think it would also be true that these expensive items could be available AND not be expensive
just like these cheap things are avaliable and not expensive where they would otherwise be expensive

the difference being one you do have a genuine lust for outside of value (the reduced value being a +) and the other you only value due to your insatiable desire to consume

wiat what...you've perpetuated throughout the thread that you regret letting deals about things you don't desire as much pass you by???

what makes u think i didnt desire them?

i desire a lot of things... 5000$ ccp jackets, 100$ ann d tees

the difference being that 5000$ ccp jackets get sold every day, and i dont have a chance at any of them, i dont have that kind of money to spend

wheras good deals (to me at least), like the ann d tee, are v. rare and something that i have a chance at buying, thats why theres only 3 things i regret not copping out of the 10000 that i scroll thru on sufu and ebay

what should i be buying o grate consumer lord?

70$ voidthebrand tees for 70$ instead of 200$ rick tees for 70$?

would that appease u?

would u think i would enjoy the VTB tee more?

idk why ur trying to condemn secondhand shopping for good deals tbh

would it make u happier if i payed 500$ for some leather pants instead of 200$?

the rest of your post is unadulterated diarrhea and you're making accusations which i didn't imply in the slightest
i was hoping to kind of hint off that you were a thirsty fookboi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3tYhBMLgdk&t=0m14s)) and need to spend a bit o'time reflecting but instead you took it as some sort of assault on second hand markets (which i have recommended, suggested and directed to in the past)

where did i say i was buying it simply because its cheap

i was buying it because i like it

why the fuck else would i buy something?

if i bought things just because they were cheap id have 20 garbage bags full of shit from goodwill

why would i buy something retail when i can wait for it to go on sale/buy it used?

let me reiterate
>when you prompt a thread about regretting to purchase stuff simply because it's cheap it's hard to guess why else you would be buying it.
the only think i derived from the op (and following posts) is that you regretted buying random shit on the cheapo. maybe there was some deep psychological ethos i swept over in between the carefully curated item lists with their related price tags and some combination of words expressing your frustration for not buying it, in which case im sincerely sorry.

but i'll take the bet that you are a thirsty fookboi

heck i'll also give you examples.
>rip viridi anne leather gloves 105$, rip viridi anne deerskin pants 200$, rip ann demeulemeester wool tee 105$
>u guys have shown me the light, copped, 150$
>bbs tee you got, 160$
> 5000$ ccp jackets, 100$ ann d tees
>70$ voidthebrand tees for 70$ instead of 200$ rick tees for 70$
>payed 500$ for some leather pants instead of 200$

im not denying that you might be buying it because you like it, but rather the discourse of the thread is suggesting otherwise.
im definitely not going to ask you why you like bbs shirts and ccp leather either.

>just because they were cheap id have 20 garbage bags full of shit from goodwill
idk if you realise it or not...but the difference between you and that is that your garbage bags cost much more.

>cheap/on sale because they are superior to things that i like that are expensive
this is probably the crux - the only reason they are superior to you (from what you;ve said) is that they cost less, to me this reads as 'i buy cheap shit for the sake of it being cheap, this is the driving factor in my decision'.
maybe im misinterpreting or maybe you're not expressing yourself well

>why would i buy something retail when i can wait for it to go on sale/buy it used
i think you're missing the point, im not condoning consumption from second hand markets, heck im not condoning anything. maybe suggesting that you are behaving in a cool way.

Trunks do u know how to build a wardrobe?

Have something you're aiming for and buy carefully selected pieces that meet that criteria.

If u need shorts or some shit right this very second now, go to fuckin uniqlo. Its blank, its cheap, its relatively ok quality. If someone asks you why you bought that pair of yoolius shorts what are you going to say? That you were attracted to the design? That they had a property that made them fit perfectly into your wardrobe?

Don't you know what separates /fa/ from the horde> What differentiates a patrician from a pleb? Carefully selected, tasteful pieces that suit your body type and that you know you can work into your closet well.

Youmight think your saving money when in fact your just pissing it away. What happens when a true grail comes along and you have no dosh for it because you wasted it on fuccboi cops?

You might think that you can sell off all these stuff you bought but it might prove difficult to get rid of all of them, not to mention the time and money wasted in this process.

Sit down mate and seriously re-evaluate what u r doing

Thinking "oh I need a pair of pj's so lemme buy an internet-hyped-brand version of it on sale" is just absurd.

You'll never be happy

some of your fits are accomplished, your fit with the flecktram parka + the jeans + combat boots was legitimately promising, would be better with a jacket of a similar silhouette but perhaps a different color? would look cool as achromatic all over
just find something interesting and cohesive and stick with it instead of W2C SICK DEALS ON USED KAZAYUKI KUMAGI SHIRTS
nothing wrong with buying used, but buy stuff you like either way, getting it cheaper only sweetens the deal
anything else is just wardrobe noise
idk maybe look at older Number (N)ine collections, specifically AW06 and SS08, I think you'd find them interesting and perhaps inspiring

uh really quick history
takahiro miyashita was a self-taught deconstructionist, used to hang out around in urahara buying clothes, deconstructing and reconstructing them to learn how to make his own. got a job working for nepenthes before starting his own label in 1996. Really started as a streetwear brand but he had high fashion aspirations and realized them in 00 (Might be earlier, but the oldest RW show I can think of is from 00?). Either way, tons of diverse influences, but especially music, everything from coked-out cock-rock glam stuff to 90s grunge. But look at SS08 if you like Demeulemeester in particular. His collections were very, very varied, and extremely personal, he's easily one of the most interesting designers working today
Label closed with AW09. There is still N(N), but it's not designed by Takahiro and of noticeably worse quality.
Takahiro now has The Soloist, interesting label, not your thing - hard to describe considering it does change a lot, but deconstructed americana comes pretty close a lot of the time, though it doesn't really do it justice. Just like Number (N)ine, it has pretty fantastic and labour-intensive construction and quality, really interesting finishes and detailing on items.

Just look at his AW01 collection for example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcgLQMY_PQI
Experimented with face-coverings around the same time as Raf did with AW01 "Riot Riot Riot". Would draw quite a few parallels between this collection and a lot of raf's extremely baggy and oversized silhouettes that took a lot from streetwear and youth culture, though n(n) feels a lot less... sinister

either way check it out

I don't mean you have to check SZ threas before buying a hoodie or whatever. just buy the normal version of the hoodie from qlo or some shit then upgrade in the future when u run into the one that captures you're heart instead of mindlessly buying the 1st designer hoodie u run into on the cheap

uh idk
i think reading about the creator and their work might give you an insight into their creations and allows you to pick up visual patterns (i.e yohji talking about vintage policeman's uniforms)
i dunno i guess i take an interest in general culture and fashion and that allows me to pick out ideas - my knowledge is not encyclopaedic by any stretch but it's nice to be able to identify something especially when it's recontextualized/reimagined in a cool way
it's hard to explain?
but yeah looking at collections is cool especially if you can try to articulate what it is exactly about a look or a piece or even a collection in general?
