I was pretty close to buying some beeswax clarks db's, but then I thought of something. Not only is that style over-played, but i usually wear pretty tight tapered jeans. I don't want my jeans sitting on top of boot. So I'm thinking of going with the mali, pic related. You guys think this is a good move? The only reason I'm hesitant is that i don't really hear much about this shoe.

i've got a pair in black. my left boot is kind of shaped strangely at the toebox, their QC isn't top notch. (the pair i was looking at in store was missing stitching)

I ordered them online and they do have a wider toe-box.

I don't know if they're 100 percent waterproof but they help up well in the rain.

Go with a size smaller than usual. I'm usually a us10-10.5 so I bought mine in a us10, but I had to send them back for a 9. They were pretty tight and stiff for a week or so, but I forced myself to wear them with thick socks at work for a few days and they stretched out enough.
