if you want slim looking boots, you should probably get mali cdbs and never consider getting DMs

I'm looking at getting a pair of the Hadley Doc Martens. Slimmer silhouette and I like the black on black look.

Should I cop?

>> No.7255330

Cop, the leather looks a lot nicer than the plastic shit you get on normal Docs.

How do you know doc martens are quality?
I found some sketchers as I was going to buy some doc martens that were much better quality.
Not to mention cheaper.

Those are real fucking nice, first Clarks i've seen that look good. Might cop those black ones for beater shoes.

Bump for boot general.

Pic is my 1000 mile Montgomeries, got a hole in them at the end of last winter, so I need new boots with the same look, just not as expensive- Any ideas?

They're popular because they're cheap, basic, and build well enough that if you look after them they'll last like 10years

I haven't seen a cheap pair of Doc Martens anywhere.
What price range are you talking about when you say cheap?

>> No.7256168

>>7256164
~100 is pretty cheap for a pair of decent leather boots. I mean, the standard docs are what, USD120ish - on sale cheaper?

You're fucked if you're an ausfag tho. I'd recommend getting coupon code from UO and buying from there w/ free shipping and like 20% coupon.

They're not slim, but I wouldn't say they're bulky.

The crepe sole isn't the best for snow but if it's not too deep and you're not completely uncoordinated it should be fine. Made it through winter in NYC last year with no problems.

Got these myself the other day after much um-ing and ah-ing. Hadn't got any big, decent leather boots before, and settled for the Hadley's.

Incredibly happy with them, absolutely great to wear and look the part too.

Go for it I say.

Also, went to the shop instead of online because I wasn't sure what size I'd need. Turns out I was a 9 when usually I'm 10 or 11, so that's worth considering.

Brilliant shop, really nice service, actually ended up chatting to them all in there for a long while too.

>> No.7259021

I love my black Malis. They're definitely good entry-level boots and very comfortable and affordable. I lived in Docs when I was in my teen years but the quality has dropped significantly in the last 5-10 years.

>>7258607
Also interested in this. Well mainly I just saw OPs pic and then googled bit for those boots, only to find out that they seem to have this transparent yellowish sole. Has it ever come with black sole or has OPs pic dude just painted it?

Sweet, I say go for it.

Sadly I ain't the richest guy around - student at the moment, very little financial support outside the base of what I can get and working my ass off outside of my studies - but I went for it, it's a solid investment especially with the crappy weather on it's way, atleast IMO.

On the cheaper side of things but essentially the same product might be worth looking into Grinders boots. No experience myself but apparently they make decent competition to Docs.

My desert boots came with a slightly off-white sole. Now, 6 months down the line it is dark brown at the sides and black undernreath. Basically they darken with essentially, muck from the streets.
