Which one do I cop?

>> No.7224563

>>7224529

I recently went into barneys to check them out in person and there were a few things I noticed:

the rubber quality on the sole is superior. the rubber is thicker and softer than on normal cons.

the canvas quality also seemed to be of better quality, albeit there weren't any regular cons there for me to compare with directly. I handle regular cons on a daily basis for my job though, so I'm fairly confident in that assessment.

the general construction just seemed better and heftier - probably just a result of the better materials used. I doubt the manufacturing process is actually much different from reg cons other than adjustments for the superior materials.

all in all, if you pay full retail for reg canvas cons (40-60) then 110 for these isn't unreasonable. it's a more satisfying product. I don't even pay retail for regular cons, I pay like 20 bucks for them and I've still been considering buying the CDGs. so there's my two cents. cop.

Not the one you're replying to but here's my take:

Toe cap stitching looks obnoxious
Welt looks weird, too modern
Thingy at the bottom of the laces looks weird, unneccesary detail.
Combat boot eylets and lacing makes it look gothy
Looks generally clunky

Seriously, I'm quite sure I've seen a goth (not even ninja, just plain ol' goth) running around with these recently. Looks too much like a modern combat boot to be effay.

only issue with the sheer shirt is that the quality could be suspect. it's from ovate and 100% rayon, i imagine snags and tears would be pretty bad?

I am totally sold on the hoodie, just unsure which one. price difference is pretty minimal. i feel like the pullover is significantly more practical, while the ringwraith costume is significantly more DOPE.

the shirts from trinitas i could take or leave i guess. I mostly just want to see how their stuff is, because i like the designs they make. would only pick 1.

also would like to know where to get a functional and warm beanie for as low a price as possible? my head and ears just get incredibly cold in the winter, but i'm not super interested in blowing a lot of money on a cool hat since i really hate wearing them.

It depends, until they're dirty dirty they just look "unclean".

And its not too bad, the black is receded pretty in so you have to look at them head on to notice the black. I was planning on painting the black strip white but I haven't really minded them since I got them.

sheer shirts aint my thing, but if i were into that kind of stuff, then i dont think i'd worry about it because i'd always layer the shirts

they're sheer, so if worn alone, then people would see my nips or at least stare at me and think "maybe i can see his nips im not sure let me stare longer"

i'm ideally looking for a coach's jacket windbreaker but i can't find a single one that is minimal and not way overpriced. overpriced meaning $4-600

Alright I'm about to drop some knowledge about OL's products as I've purchased a lot of their shit over the years.

Outerwear:
Heavy jackets are lacking; your pictured parka is a pretty tasteless addition. This season's midnight shimmer is the best addition and it still doesn't look brilliant in store.

Light jackets/Jean Jackets:
Buy them immediately. One pocket jean jacket is an amazing piece, so its no mystery it comes back better every season. Stay away from the "Tech" material and "Scuba" as they are made from leftover materials their design team experiments with.

Sweats/Basic tees:
Amazing. Perfect Tee is brilliant. Every one I own is still as soft as the day I bought it. Great sweat is amazing. Stay away from the shaggy material.

Crepe tees are excellent. Buy these while you can because they are going out of style in Sweden.

Trousers and Denim:
Sub par. If you know a good tailor I would suggest, but I just think there are better alternatives available.

Suiting:
Once again: better alternatives exist, but a good quick fix if need be.

Leather:
I own the leather blouson from this season and its already my favorite thing in my wardrobe. Boots are strange and are lacking. I tried on the distressed leather boots from last winter's season and they were shoddy. The camion boots this season are nice, but im just not in love with the look.

2/2

Sneakers:
They may look bland, but they actually look amazing in person. Can't tell you how great the slip on shoes from last season are. The runner model from this season was nice as well. I tried it on in store, but it just doesn't fit my aesthetic.

Shirting:
It used to be amazing. from 2011-2012 it was unmatched in price for quality. From SS2012 onwards they switched to a rougher cotton and the quality just hasnt been the same. The old shirts used to flow so freely but managed to "break in" to your shape. This season I like the shawl collar and the zip front shirts. Stay away from the "six" model and "generation" shirts. The construction on these models are "intentionally flawed" aka there will be holes and several imperfections after even light wear.

Still love the brand. They have their ups and downs though. I live near the store so I can always take phone pics for anyone if need be.

UGH cant tell you how disappointed I was about those when I saw them in person.

The pictures online look incredible so it's really frustrating to go into the store with the intent to purchase only to find out they weren't what you expected.

although it's a little frustrating that the models all wear Size S

There is a big gap in 44 vs. 46. It just depends on the model of shirt you wear.
Ex. I wear a 46 in the 40's button because it fits shorter (even the details are geared towards a shorter fit-just take a look at the button placket!) and the shoulders are slightly narrower.

But a 44 in the classic shirt and pretty much anything else because they tend to be a tad larger than expected.

I size down on tees- stretch them for the best fit.

size up on sweats because they are short-cut and look amazing with a boxy shape.

>> No.7230151

>>7230129

yeah I don't dig how TTS sweats looks on the models

I looove the fit on the perfect tee but I gotta settle for 44. the shoulders are actually a tad too large lol
