Looking at getting a new watch. Skagen watches are a personal favorite, very sleek and very slim. Not a big fan of the bulkier watches that are available. Any suggestions?

nice one

I was looking at a similar skagen but with an all black face and actual numerals. Very good minimalistic watch, haven't found one in their price range that beats them, might cop one soon.Grail watch for me would be a deadstock K.Haring x Swatch from the 80s.

They're not quite as thin as they look. The edge and bezel make them look like a coin, but they have a deep convex case back to account for the cheap Chinese movement inside, which is no thinner than on any other cheap fashion watch.

I hate Skagens. They just feel like shit when you're holding one. So light and plasticy, basically they feel like they could fall apart at any second. The straps especially feel like you could just pull it off with minimal force and it'd break.

this. but for the price its one of the better options if you dont feel like a cheap casio or weekender. maybe save up a little more and get a simpler swiss army watch. well designed minimalism.

I agree about Weekender but you can get Casio like pic related for 30$.

In Skagen range you can already get many far superior shit like entry level Seikos and Citizens.

oh i was refering to their cheap classic digitals like the F28W-1. kind of have the same charm as new balances.

Yeah that's a whole different animal though, terrorist Casio etc is supposed to retro and "cheap", kind of tacky if you will. Bit novelty.

People buy Skages because they think they are genuinely nice watches.

Seriously don't buy Skagen watches.
I have one and glass fell off after a few months of use. I brought the watch to my watch repair guy and he told me that Skagen doesn't send parts to anyone so he had to glue the glass back on. So you're generally fucked if anything happens to watch because nobody can get fucking parts.
Rather get a Citizen, Seiko or some other "low end" brand than Skagen which is overpriced shit.
It doesn't even look that good IRL.
Here is a picture of my skagen.

w2c minimalist watches that aren't shit, then? I don't need some gaudy 'work of horologie' squatting on my wrist, I want something that'll look like the OP picture.

Or this Seiko. If it must be black including case and bracelent, this narrows your options considerably.

i like my skagen

what do you guys think of it?

>> No.7199057

>>7199040
yeah, it seems like most watches tend to like putting some flashy bare metal in, which isn't really my thing. I suppose it's more 'watches-as-jewelry-for-men', but if I want that I've got a big shiny skeleton watch on my dresser already.

Well there is always the good ol' brushed steel. Propably the most common watch material and far from flashy. I dislike polished steel/polished anything as much as the next guy.

Yes, it's pretty popular place to order Seikos, Orients and stuff among the folks of major watch forums.
