/fa/ movies?
I watch this yesterday on Netflix and it was pretty damn good. The judge suits were surprisingly well done overly retarded usual sci-fi shit. Also the villains had some good shit on too.

>dystopiancore

Dystopiancore might be hard to define, depending on the source material.

needed the goofy pauldrons from the comics.

Stallone's pauldrons on on Urban's suit would have been perfect.

>> No.7177784

When I saw this my brother and dad thought it was a horrible movie but I was extremely drawn to how beautiful it was cinematically

It was such candy

>> No.7177802

Dredd is decent. I think most of 4Chan has a boner for it just because it was a simple movie with a singular focus.

>> No.7177804

In Mega-City One, everyone wears kneepads and pauldrons, has a goofy undercut and wears a helmet all the time.

I mean even the civilians. Not something as tactical as the Judges but still vaguely similar.

Yeah Dredd was p. cool. I think everything Wes Anderson does is pure /fa/. I fucking love the color combinations he uses, it's literally eye-candy. Can't wait for his new film to come out.
Coffee and Cigarettes enters the list as well. So does Pierrot le fou, La piel que Habito, and of course motherfucking Tom Hardy's 'A single man' (it'd be one of my favorite movies ever, if it weren't for the gay romance that made me cringe every single time.

Just finished the second video. It's like the director read an /fa/ comic and said "hey, let's make a film about this" funny as hell.

Wes is awesome too, I didn't know he did commercials, good stuff.

Its popular because it doesn't try to be canon game changer. Its just like reading Dredd comic in cinematic form. Plus it's done beautifully

To be fair, all the directors who tried to adapt other comic books wouldn't feel the need to fix the canon if their source material wasn't so awful compared to the awesomeness that is 2000AD.

Actually, over the past few months I've been going through a few aesthetic theories and most of them will fit these just fine, especially those since the 1910s. Adorno would probably love them. Gadamer would also find it justifiable and Ingarden wouldn't really give a shit if you liked them or not.

As for other (/fa/) movie recommendations, here are a few, off the top of my head: Three colors Blue, Last year at Marienbad, La dolce vita, 8 1/2, Cosmopolis, The best offer (I don't get why this movie's such an underdog, it just came out a few months ago), In the mood for love and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
