I use different variations of it as my go to date (so fairly frequently), but this is also how I spend most of my time with friends as well so it feels very natural for me. It is kind of a double edged sword, because as you said it is hard to top. So far though it hasn't failed, every girl I've done this with has come back for more. In general though, it has to include nature and has to include music (drinking is also a must) because these are the things that I enjoy and mean the most to me. Your date should always say something about your personality and interests in my opinion, helps the person you are with to understand more about you right off the bat.

Some girls don't appreciate music or nature or drinking, but those are girls I wouldn't take on a date anyways.
