They're pretty classic. If you're trying to modernize it, do it in little ways. Instead of a regular chino, try something with a VERY slight anti-fit. Or something that's loose and cuffed, but in a traditional fabric. You've got a little less latitude given how your shoes look.

i wear my pods a lil bit higher and cinch the waistband with the drawstrings to keep them there, i like having that option and it works better for me because they're less likely to bind/give more freedom of movement. i like the way that the gusset on rick's drop sort of closes and opens with movement, whereas the wider gusseting on cdg seems to just sort of flap about.

this is a pretty standard crotch gusset
this one is so small that i think it's just meant to displace seams away from the taint, or to save pants that can't be tailored to fit. the depth of rick's crotch dropping required quite a lot more ease and a lot more of that ease had to be thrown forward, which is why they have that hard triangular shape. then rick just cut it into the central butt panel in back instead of leaving it as its own panel, and he blended the triangle into the seat curve.

the core block for pods is kind of a standard bermuda, into which a massive drop and gusset has been grafted. you could take the gusset out and shape the crotch seam into where the legs first split and have a very boring pair of shorts that would be difficult to move in instead of an amazing pair of shorts that are difficult to move in.

being comfy isnt a trik m8
rik makes it a reality V___V
also his jackets are tailored different to many other jackets in that the pits sit higher and the shoulder seam(?) sits more horizontally along the clavicle - more true to the human anatomy --> less stiff movement if you want to swing your arms around to disrupt the dadcore nerds delicately folded pocket square.
then you sit back and watch them writhe trying to negotiate retracting their scapula, flexing their elbows while craning their neck in their shitty stiffening jacket.

besides, there's really no reason *not* to utilize the pivot except to simplify construction for mass production. it's not even ripping off rick here, because he stole it from dancewear and activewear in the first place; it's reintroducing techniques that shouldn't have been lost in the first place.

hahah mate, I don't know what's happened to you and why you've become such a little bitch. But please come back to the old Turnleft.

It's as simple as this, I made a statement about Rick jacket's tailoring, an opinion I have formed after actually going to the stores and trying on the jackets. You wrote a whole bunch of rhetoric then made a statement about how you haven't even tried on a properly fitted Rick Jacket (the comment about 2 sizes larger)... now in my logical steps that pretty much negates everything you had written before... cause you can write about construction methods all you like, if you haven't tried on the jacket then you're not going to know what I was referring to. Hence my simple comment about "Go and try one on that's your size and you'll see what I was talking about" the second half of which was a reference to my earlier post about " just look at his jackets and how they're tailored. It's almost Slimane like. By that I mean not comfortable and fiercely structured."

I don't doubt your fashion knowledge but I think it's bizarre you somehow think you hold a monopoly on it.

It all started when he made the first thread about sruli recht, informing /fa/ about this cool designer he discovered.
he got bashed by /fa/ and that's sort of like the starting point in his creation of a defense mechanism.
Then he bought his first sruli recht pieces, showing them off, talking about sruli sending him an extra thing with his purchase.
Here's when he was more humble, and started posting his first hobo-core fits, these were really the first thing on /fa/ that inspired me to love that sort of style.
Then, of course if you drop a lot of cash on a few pieces, you have to start saving up again, understandable. He posted similar fits in WAYWTs and people on /fa/ got bored of it after a while and starting picking on him.
It continued like that, turny building a new way of sarcastic writing that he'd never tried before, typing with lowercase and lots of slang, kinda like what based does. Its kind of like a way to say "I'm so much better than you, but I can drop to your level." At least that's what turn and based think.

I don't really see the issue when you're applying it to this particular discussion.

There is no discussion if we don't have a point of comparison, if you're waffling on about all your stuff without having even tried on a properly fitted Rick jacket, how on earth am I suppose to continue discussion with you and try to persuade you that my comment about the tailoring being structured and unforgiving like Slimane (ie the opposite of slouch comfort that is pods + rick tee).

So the only logical thing I could suggest was for you to go try one on, after that, if you still disagreed at least I would know we had a much more similar point of comparsion.

i am either too short or too fat for rick or both

pre-recent collections, as a 50, L
hem was good, sleeve length a little long, IDK if it was the styling or the shortness

now everything is way too slim or way too long

also i never copped becuase it was always way way way too feminine looking for my liking

-----------
i wear a yohji 3 (length wise) since most of yohjis fits have more to do with height rather than too little or too much fabric

and i wear an issey miyake medium.

50 mmm jackets, 48 shirt sizes.
loro piana i have to size up 1 so usually anything 50-52

I've got nothing invested in this except to convince Turnleft that he needs to stop doing whatever he's been doing. It's not like him to be offended over nothing and I've said nothing with the intention to offend.

If i've failed to convince you then I just about give up buddy, I hope it's just you having bad day or something. Take care.

sizing changes from season to season and piece to piece for all brands

as detailed here

also in addition to that, textile production tolerances are pretty generous, especially for a brand that does not pride itself with construction, and minute details like rick owens

i dont really care
i was hoping i could intice you into good discussion so that i might learn more about how rick jackets fit etc etc
there are obviously heaps of different models so you could have argued 'different model' and maybe added a bit of specification for sake of discussion at least

but instead you took up this totally pathetic
'lol i cant help u unles u try it on' approach

i think i was a bit naive thoughout
perhaps the content didnt exist in the first place.

How tall are ya Sieg? Yohji size 2 might be worth a try, though their cuts have become slimmer too.

>>you haven't put up meaningful content
I disagree with that, but it seems like your go to defense for everything with everyone.

>>i haven't tried on other (non-leather) jacket that i think fit adequately.
And that pretty much solves it, you're writing about something that you know about in theory but won't even bother to back it up with going into a store and trying it on to see if you what you're writing actually applies.

My simple suggestion for you go put something on and thus enabling a better discussion for future conversations makes you rage and act like a spoilt child who can't handle not getting his way.

What is that holiday thing supposed to mean?

For the past three seasons Rick has been consistent with his tailoring. His sizing hasn't changed (for the past three collections) his cuts have.

Also Sieg, I hope you're not offended if I choose not to take your advice on anything /fa/ related. There are a few people here I trust the opinions of, turnleft is one of them, but you're not.

Wait... I thought that was 5'8.

This is why I hate the imperial system.

one method of conversion is doing the exact mathematical like you did, the other is counting 10cm = 4 inches hence 1 foot = 30 cms.

that would make 173cm = 5'8 and me at 178cm = 5'10... That's how I've always done it... by always just referring to metric... seriously imperial sucks.

Me : I don't think Rick is all about comfort, just check his tailored jackets
You : descriptions of a Rick tailored cut
Anon : have you tried one on?
You : Yes, but a few sizes too large.
Me : Oh, try one on, you'll see what I meant by the slimane-esque structure
You: what are you talking about? I don't need to try anything on to have a discussion? Where is your valid contribution? Have you followed Philosophy 1001's logical step progression about holidaying in Hawaii?

.......all i wanted was for you to get that Rick's jackets aren't what I would consider comfy like pods + rick tee.

sorry, I was getting the link for uniqlo heat tech leggings for the other anon :)

http://www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/goods/078003

for some reason they don't have them stocked in the US store yet. But anon these are the leggings. The waffle are actually great too, so if you want to play with texture, that would be cool.

as far as those damir shorts are concerned. the tag seems too high up and too close to the elastic waistband for me. The seller has A LOT of private sales which would lead to me believe he's trying to keep the items on the down low.

I think they're fake bruv, there's very few damir basics on ebay which are actually real.
