Can we have a techwear winter wear thread? I'm looking for an insulated jacket that has techwear features. I don't really care what the price is, but I want to be able to essentially go out in 0-35F degree weather with a basic long sleeve shirt while wearing a jacket.

This jacket is from Aether and has 170g of primaloft ONE, is two layers, windproof, and fully seamsealed waterproof.

This is similar to what I'm looking for, but I know almost nothing about winter jackets. Any other alternatives or recommendations to this? Brand names?

I would look at Herno Laminar for insulated technical wear, under the direction of Errolson Hugh of Acronym
The current Arc'teryx Veilance AW13 has an insulated goretex field jacket you might be interesting in looking at as well

Field jackets don't really seem as fitted or minimalist as I'm kind of going for. Plus, with snow coming around the corner, I'd prefer to have a hood.

I'm currently wearing this jacket, but it's starting to bottom out around 35 degrees without layering.

You can open the collar and use the concealed hood, like with an M65
It's an insulated jacket, it's going to be somewhat bulky either way, going fitted with that kind of technical wear seems silly to me.
And the field jacket I posted is pretty minimalist, from the closures to the low profile pockets.

I guess I just don't like field jackets in general, lol.

ISAORA Tech 2-L Riding Anorak just came in today. It's also using Primaloft ONE. Warm as fuck. I thought I was going to need a mid-layer with it but I really don't - and probably won't unless it dips below 0°F and I'm snowboarding.

It also has that Schoeller shit on it, too. That's encouraging that 60g Primaloft is super warm. I'm sure 170g will cut it without the Schoeller.

Bump. I guess there aren't any clear objections to Aether, so seems like a good cop to me.
