I for one have them. They look sick as fuack. Too bad I really don't have anything else to wear them execpt those pants(pic related). It's quite hard to pull off and match with any jackets I have, though. But it seems that this loose-thigh-tapered-shin cut is coming back. And those puttees are quite easy to DIY to match your pants if you just find a matching fabric.

Post pictures of modern versions of breeches.

I have tried those horse bandages(puttees for horses) and they work just fine and look nice. They even are cheaper than surplus puttees. But I suggest you to visit your local riding equipment retailer instead of ordering online, since there are a lot of different quailities of fabric and the tickness varies.
