I just moved to the north east. Is it really odd if I wear a shirt, tie, dress pants, and a north face jacket over it? I don't need to wear a suit jacket.

I don't have much money and can't afford another pea coat or something

i hope youre joking

Depends on how casual people dress. At the company I work it, you could get away with it.

Yeah, you can. What type of jacket? Hoenstly it doesn't much matter given that you take it off when you get to work I imagine

Does it sound like I was joking in any way? Could that even be made into a funny joke at all?

>>7064799
Once I'm there no one will care, I will take my jacket off. But I'm just wondering if it'll look weird on the train and walking around the street

I'm from Wisconsin, and I see this all the time. You won't be /fa/, but you won't an eyesore. I, personally, would never do this because that jacket wouldn't enhance your outfit.

can you post a pic of the dress pants you'd be wearing? i think you're okay as long as you're not wearing obnoxious shirt, pant, and tie colors

Thanks. I'll just do it.

I'm an outdoorsman anyway and never felt a pea coat looked "right" on me.

North Face is pretty incongruous for a full suit, which it sounds like you know because you're hesitant. Typical Northeast pleb maneuver - so you wouldn't stand out.

Go to a thrift store, grab a peacoat or an overcoat, tailor it, done. It shouldn't run you more than $100, which is roughly what the entry level North Face stuff costs.

uniqlo has a cheap peacoat and down jacket available right now

imo a down jacket would look better than the type of tnf jacket you have

yeah, that's fine. you won't look that fashionable, but it's not a faux pas

If you're freezing your ass off, nobody's going to worry about how effay you look.
