Flecktarn and other Bundeswehr parkas are great rain garments but they're hard to pull off. I own one and it fits like a giant bag. Pic related is the only pic I've seen where I felt like it was pulled off effectively (and maybe only because knoch has superpowers.)

i dont think that is what legitimizes clothing, but with the right designer it can help

military stuff I usually think is tacky when worn out of context. Lots of military surplus clothing are extremely utilitarian and because of that, fit much differently than designer clothing, and utilize different more durable materials (which has some disadvantages aesthetically)
