Just use some oil or conditioner on them. Water can wash the tanning chemicals out of unwaterproofed leather, but as long as you feed the leather it will be fine. They weren't going to look brand new for long anyway.

If you got them wet and then left them for a few weeks, then you'd have a problem.

take heart OP. you just upped the fa factor on your boots. new boots are only cool if your entire fit is completely flawless. no creases or anything. now your boots have character. now they went from some cool boots, to YOUR cool boots. at least x10 cooler with your personal wear and tear on them.

just keep polishing them, and protecting the leather, and it will look so cool. i promise. its going to be ok.
