i just started using cologne and have been using terre by hermes. i like the scent a lot. it has a nice woody, masculine feel to it while still being playful.

my only concern is that cologne is really associated with being dadcore. i dress basic bitch for work and goofnigga on my own time and want something that suits my style.

i really want to try out cdg stuff like wonderwood. they dont stock it at my local saks or nordstroms. they probably have it at my barneys but i never go up to the fifth floor becuz it is all #menswear

also i bought my terrw d'hermes at a street market for $20. it was still sealed and is authentic. none of the cologne/perfume dealera there sell cdg tho

I am a lesbian and I am definitely more masculine than femme, but I am not a big motorcycle butch type bitch. Maybe a more urban, young Hillary Clinton minus the whole 'boys club old money' vibe?

Anyway, I have trouble finding a scent that's not TOO obviously a cologne but that's more androgynous. Definitely nothing sweet, fruity or floral.

I like tobacco, leather, asian spice, amber, sandalwood and warm vanilla bean notes the best.

I am open to scents like bergamot, musk, sage, patchouli, white pepper, mahogany.

No florals (especially not lavender or rose) and no citrus or pine.

I'd like a scent that's elegant with a hint of exoticism, something that's balanced with spice but not overbearing and appropriate for a masculine woman.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

> Ignore anyone who sys you need to smell like a girl's dad

This is such good advice. Detecting any scent on a guy I intend on fucking that I associate with my father will immediately make my vagina seal shut in revulsion. Thankfully my dad doesn't wear cologne or anything so this rarely happens but I once realized after the fact that this guy, who I liked otherwise but was very very reluctant to sleep with (to the point where we broke it off because of it), was probably subconsciously grossing me out because he wore the same Nautica aftershave as my dad.

for 20 bucks curve. Personally I dont care for it to much, but when I get wiffs of it on other people it smells decent. IMO curve crush smells better but generally the orginal is more pop.

Other than that your hands are tied for 20 bucks, id suggest checking marshalls are TJ maxx everynow and then you can find a good cologne for around that price but its hit or miss at best.

I tried Acqua di Parma recently and I have to say it suits me very well. It feels very natural.

Two takeaways from the experience:

1. There was a particular note in the heart that I didn't care for; it smelled a bit "old." I think it was lavender.
(a) Is there a mall-tier fragrance with a top note of lavender that I can try to isolate the note with?
(b) Is there a Cologne that smells similar to Acqua di Parma but without lavender? Profumum Roma - Antico Caruso fits the description somewhat, but I haven't tried it.

2. What really made me love AdP was its intoxicating drydown. Guessing the particular note that made it so memorable, through elimination, I want to say patchouli.
(a) Is there something I should try if I want to identify patchouli?
(b) I've always associated patchouli with hippies, but I'm not sure why. It's odder still since I had no concept of what patchouli smells like. Is this a common connection?

I tried Angel for the first time just because I heard a drag queen I thought was fab talking about it. Now it's my second favorite scent ever after Mitsouko.

ausnigger here

finally had a fucking nicely hot day. CdG Incense series - Kyoto works SO MUCH BETTER in warmer weather than in cold. longevity is still an issue (4-5 hours before it fades to a skin scent). but it projects much better. i could smell it on myself still after about 3 hours, was great, then i was at woolies and some chick with huge tits squeezed past me, and she turned around to 'mire and she had a crackhead face. but to make up for it i was in line at the post office near this catholic school girl and she kept creeping closer and closer. my god there is nothing hotter than those little white socks that they wear.

if you want a dirty ass patchouli scent, track down JPG Kokorico.

its similar to le male, but supposedly has a more tropical vibe. all i can smell is fucking patchouli.

im not a fan.

patchouli lovers all say l'artisan perfumuer's "patchouli patch" is one of the best out there. track down a sample, would be a good idea if you are just testing notes.

I like Shalimar on a man. It's kind of mummish, but not in a bad way. It's just a bit dated. there are so many newer angles to take with fragrance now that I feel like Shalimar is a bit of a cop-out and feels like, you know, you just took it from your mum's dresser

I can't really see wanting to wear it on a night out on the town. It might just be because I can't quite pull it off. I'm a kind of new to /fa/.

it seemed to me that the new shoes were the centerpiece of the show
the shoes are designed for cardio and that implies force and power
the choice in dancers were interesting in that it allowed him to showcase the clothes in a way that untrained models could not
whether the body shape of the dancers were intentional or just coincidental for ricks needs is something no one can answer except for rick

as for the clothes it was the same of what rick always brings to the table, more of his world
it was nice to see them on models of a different size

Where's some of this stuff? I only saw positive critiques.

I think I can kind of see where that would be coming from, but, like, it's basic that there's no way a rich semi-white guy is going to be able to collaborate with black college women and come off completely clean.

Good God this is some basic bitch shit. She says literally nothing anyone with the training to understand the article doesn't know, and fails at some basic research. (Chiding Owens for calling the show "gritty," when the official name for the face gestures in step dance in "grit face," something that shows up in any article discussing them.)

It's like, we get it, the fashion industry is dominated by white perspectives, and what is an Italian-Hispanic-American-in-Paris designer supposed to do about it?

And while I'm okay with talking about Owens functioning as white in a lot of ways, I don't think she would be, if she had bothered to Google, from that ridiculous spiel acting like the marginalization of Asians and Blacks is the same.
