Has anyone that has ordered from Mr. Porter know if they have to sign for their package?

Was thinking of ordering the Raf sweater but I know I'm never home so I was wondering if I would have to sign. thanks

You can request a sign at door from the carrier. Once they give you a tracking number you will have it affiliated with the email you used to order it from the retailer. To change terms of delivery they send you an email you must follow instructions from (usually clicking link) to change the deliver terms. If the piece is worth a significant amount they make you sign anyways. Usually 250+ value requires signature in USA.

USA here

So does it come with sign automatically or do you have to REQUEST a signature?

I don't want a signature because I'd rather come home to find it next to my door

I've always had to sign they're really strict about it but I'm in Australia so may be different.

You can change the terms when you get the tracking number. I had to tell them to leave at door on instructions with USPS with a 30 USD item. Depends on retailer or carrier. Some retailers just want the right person to get the item so they put down signature at door as default for all items.

Oftentimes, if they deliver it and require a signature but you arent around, they live a delivery notice on your door. Usually on the back of these notices is a box and waiver that you can sign and post on the front of your door giving the delivery driver permission to just leave it at your door when he attempts a second delivery.

That is, assuming you don't owe any import fees or anything.

was the $30 item from mr porter? i've literally had amazon leave items for $300 on my porch without even knocking

yeah depends on retailer. Had all my pc components just dropped at my door from newegg. Like 2k stuff. My 100 USD case required a sign.

So newegg and amazon are very lenient on signing. Mr Porter; no sign for USA or what?

Or does it just depend on the amount?

depends on the courier mostly UPS

So if UPS wants to make me sig, I have to sign and if they don't, I dont? It's just luck?

usually they'll have you sign it but sometimes the drivers if they're in a rush will leave it on your door step and fake the signature, i was waiting all day for a package from mr p once and got to about 6pm, decided to check the tracking number and it said it had been delivered with a picture of the signature which was just a line, went outside to have a look and the package was sitting in my garden
