Is 18 too young to stop wearing t-shirts and hypebeast shit?

I basically only wear button up shirts, longsleeve sweaters and jackets.

I'm leaving high school and starting college right now, and I wanted to stop wearing t-shirts, hoodies, skate shoes, etc all together. My typical outfit right now is a nice pair of jeans, an untucked longsleeve button up and casual shoes. Am I too young to be dressing like this? What will the other college kids dress like? Will it be the same shit as high school? I feel too old to be wearing supreme hats and nike SB's but too young to be dressing dadcore.

You'll be fine.

Most dudes in college wear cargo shorts, relaxed fit jeans, sweats, basketball shorts and free t-shirts.

Be confident, fuccboi.

No. Just wear raws and plain tees with shawl collar cardigans for fall and then jackets come winter. With some flat brown leather boots. Go basicbitch. Don't go dadcore.

>> No.6962015

Once you leave HS you can dress however you want. Also, the sooner you reinvent yourself the sooner people can adjust, new people you meet will think that's just how you always dressed.

Go forth young one, life begins now. Gather your courage, for it is going to suck deeply and often!

Wear what makes sense for your life and lifestyle. I float between dealing with customers, being holed up in an office, popping into a photo studio, and traveling to showrooms, so comfortable pants, jeans, and tees, with lots of layers are what works for me. You have to figure out what works for you.

Depends on the country. US has the least fashionable youth in all the west. You'd be fine in Europe, that's for sure.

Thanks, I'm trying to come off as somewhat preppy, but I want to avoid looking dadcore.

I'm getting a sufficient amount of money this weekend and I'm going shopping. Would it be a good idea to go to Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren for a jacket and a pair of shoes, and then Zara and H&M for more basic stuff such as shirts, sweaters and maybe even pants?

Hmm, so I'm getting around 6150 euros. But I'm obviously not spending all that on clothes, and I'm not just buying really expensive stuff for the hell of it either.

It's a mix in between both, I already have some nice shirts and blazers that would work well with the kind of style I'm thinking of. But I just need more fits really. I have 2 pants that I love, the rest are shit, and I have around 4-5 shirts that are nice too. And I have one sweater.
So it's really more about expanding my ridiculously tiny wardrobe

>> No.6963267

Buy two oxfords, some sweaters/sweatshirts, 1 navy and 1 black pair of jeans, learn to layer properly. Everything else is up to you from then on.

Okay, is /fa/ dying at this time of day? I'll make a thread early tomorrow morning then.

Yeah it seems easy, and it's honestly what I've grown up in. But I want to master it, if you catch my drift.

Thanks for your positive feedback, I expected way worse.

Should I go for some quality jackets and shoes, and be a little bit more stingy on the other stuff you wrote?

People will most likely be all over the spectrum. You might be called a tryhard by the slobs rocking old jeans and running shoes (True story), but there will certainly be people in dressier clothes than you.
