I wash my face twice a day in the morning and night with gentle oil-free soap and then apply SPF 15 Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. If I have an acne spot, I'll apply some salycylic acid on it. I shave every other day because my acne comes back if I let my facial hair grow in for too long. For blackheads, I use a Biore blackhead mask once a week or if I have an important thing, I'll do it then. Any blackhead mask would do the job though. I think the most crucial part is the moisturizer as it makes any face look smoother and reduces acne scarring.

Outside of the washing routine, I drink plenty of water, get exercise and sunlight and change my pillow case every other day. If you have really bad acne, odds are it's shit genetics, so take a trip to the Dermatologist. I got doxycycline which cleared my acne up after a few months and almost none after half a year. It's basically accutane without the awful side effects. I'm so much happier now that my acne's basically gone. Only thing left is to wait out the acne scars and the moisturizer helps with that.

If this sounds overdone, well, that's what having shit acne does to you. But hey, my face looks miles better now.

A lot of sunlight makes your acne a lot worse, trust me. I tried an hour or two without a hat and such in the California heat to try and make the acne a little better, made it so much worse for 3 weeks.

Relatively clear now from moderate acne to 3 small zits and a few white heads using a few things.

1) Daily vitamins and A LOT OF WATER
2) More exercise
3) Exfoliate with salycilic acid in the shower, followed by 2 minutes of cold water
4) Apply benzoyle peroxide cream during the day
5) 14 pillow cases, changing them out every day

I tried the "eating healthier" method prior to all of this other shit, and I didn't notice a difference so I don't bother with it too much.

I used to goto this Chinese woman who would take this tool in pic to my face and meticulously remove as many blackheads and whiteheads as she could, then she'd put this cream which hardened into a mask on me and I'd nap for an hour, afterwards she'd remove the mask and run this rod-like gizmo which had electricity running through it over my face to close my pores, I'm told.
That process was incredibly painful, and I don't do it anymore.
Now I just use some Jan Marini products before I goto bed. First the "Bioglycolic Face Cleanser", let it sit, wash, then apply "Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment Lotion 10%" and sleep with that on.
Hope this helps.

I get an occasional pimple here and there. Use straight rubbing alcohol. If you aren't going out, put some toothpaste. Works like a charm. Why do people who don't even have acne bother responding.

If you're lucky enough to have superior skin genetics and are not cursed with chronic acne that can at least be described as light to moderately severe just butt out and let us lowly peasants try to help each other.

Describing how you take care of your once a month pimple that would go away within a day on its own anyways helps nobody.

Anyway OP, after struggling for years and wasting fuckloads of cash on products I find the most effective things by far are

>almost excessive amounts of sleep
>similarly excessive amounts of water

Aside from that, keep an eye on what foods set you off. I also take vitamins just in case, though I'm not 100% sold on their effectiveness.

In terms of products I stick to gentle stuff with salicylic acid and sunscreen. Experimenting with the stronger stuff showed me that it will be very effective initially but your skin will get used to it and it will stop working within a month, and sometimes get worse.

right now my acne is pretty shitty because i have depression and havent showered in 3 weeks..

but what i found worked for my moderate-severe acne (couldnt afford accutane, no insurance) is:
3 months of antibiotics (bactrim)
clindamycin (optional)
tretinoin (or retinol cream)
10% benzoyl peroxide (dr sheffield clearzit for $4 on amazon)
an occasional salicylic acid wash (coral kavi soap)
10% saliycic acid peel for spot treatment once a week
2% salicylic acid makeup pen for covering up any rogue acnes or blemishes (whilst helping to get rid of the pimple)

antibiotics are quite good unfortunately i think they make the acnes more resilient but a one time 3 month course shouldnt be a problem. you can take them longer but accutane would be better.

in the end, i will probably go on accutane once i have enough money because there is just no end to this shit and the daily rituals we gotta do are tiring.

this is what ive been doing and it works surprisingly well

reason being: hot showers soften up the natural oils on your skin so when you wash more oil gets taken away. your skin then becomes dry and stripped of essential oils as well as nutrition and minerals etc. so it has to compensate by producing more oil.

when you use colder water the oils stay at their current viscosity and stay in your skin. cold water also tightens the skin and closes pores

I used to have a lot of acne but ever since i started lifting and drinking a lot of water my acne has disappeared. I also take multivitamins and stopped drinking pop so that maybe helps.

Sweating helps get the shit out of your skin, just remember pat it off with a towel and to shower right after exercising.

Accutine or Accutane.
Just got off my treatment, little to no scarring.
Works like a charm, the side effects are not really anything to worry about.
Some nosebleed here and there.

You might have to cut either alcohol or sugar depending on wich one of them you get.

If your on a heavy dose of it, your doctor migh ask you to do a bi-monthly blood check.
And thats about it...

follow up question:
Are blackheads hard to get rid of?
Are they 'as hard as acne' ?

Because this is the main problem I have and it's really annoying me. Anyone had problems with them ?

what should i use on my hair to avoid acne?

i just have a normal fuccboi haircut

Here's a biggy.
How do I get rid of having a red face?
I drink plenty of water, I use moisturizer every day, I wash my face, all that stuff that I should be doing anyway, except my face is just red as all fuck.
Some of it is post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation, and I am on Doxycycline, but it's getting to be a real problem.

This is the exact problem I have.
Try Doxycycline, it should help your acne, and mine is currently fading to the point where it's 90% redness.

welcome to the club.
As poster above said, Doxycycline has helped prevent additional acne forming on my face, with an Isotretinoin cream applied to tackle existing shit. doxy is really good for rapid improvement, i used to be pizzaface like you but now mine isnt that bad.

the thing i hate the most about being ginger is the coloration of my hands. theyre always red or pink. why cant i have normal hands.

here's some advice from a guy that was you

-stop giving a shit
-stop touching your face
-start working out, be it running or lifting weights or swimming(it will fix your skin problems and make your face more attractive)
-stop eating dairy(I didn't know until I tried this. I had milk for breakfast every day)
-really try not touching your face
-fresh t-shirt/towel/pillow case every 2 days
-stop worrying
