They're not my favorite, really. I go more for stuff like Headscan and Front Line Assembly (because cyberpunk).
The band is damn interesting, and a founder of industrial music. They treated their audiences as test subjects, attempting to elicit physical responses through bright lights, harsh noises, and abusive behavior.

An overproduced, mostly soulless, commercial exploitation of its genre's gimmicks.

85% of their songs are patchworks of incoherent shred guitar riffs that lose all dramatic power because of that. On that account, I'd like to quote what Nietzsche said about Wagner but I don't remember it quite well.

They're entry-level as fuck, lost the inspirational epicness of Power Metal in favor of fancy guitar tricks and flat vidya imagery and have like 5 or 6 really good songs, and they all date back to their first two albums.
