Are straight jeans even considered /fa/ any more? It seems everyone wears slim/skinny nowadays but I've never really been a fan of the style.

Now I'm not talking like dad-tier washed out 501's of course, but like a pair of Edwin ED-47s for instance, like in the pic.

Depends entirely on your style. If you're a bigger dude and you have the proportions that justify a classic straight leg, then sure. For something as essential as denim, a fit that flatters is always going to be more important than a fit that's trendy.

My style is mostly button down shirts with cardigans, as I work in a smart casual environment. When not at work I still wear shirts mostly, but more casual ones like checked or oxford. I guess it's semi hipster but more grown up or something. I dunno.

If I were to buy a pair of straight jeans, they would never be Levi's 501s. Those jeans are just waa-ay to baggy.

Uniqlo has a slimmer straight leg, these won't make you look like a fatass. Funny thing is, they are called "Regular Straight-Fit".

So yeah, Uniqlo's Regular Straights are much better than Levi's 501s.

I've had a few bad experiences with STFs. Not every pair shrinks the same, and they would still look goofy. When I finally got a pair to fit just right, the color was just awful.

If I could, I would try out a pair of the higher end STFs, but they are hard to find.
