Hey /fa/

Been trying to find some reviews on La Nuit by YSL. Anyone have any info on it? I have also been reading up on fragrance terminology. That there is different versions of each product, one being Eau de Toilette which is light but doesn't last long and Eau de Parfum which is longer lasting. I wanna know which matters most. I wanna get something new so I looked into La Nuit.

I have been currently using Acqua Di Gio(shit doesn't last 2 hours), and Ruehl No. 925 (dry down is nice, last a good while)

If your cologne is sold in a clothing outlet like A&F or American Eagle, it's just a shit cologne. While Aqua Di Gio smells good, it's just not tasteful, because every other moron has it. They probably only know of it from the commercials.

What is a good fragrance for Fall/Winter since it's coming up?

>> No.6926753

>>6926726

Yeah, no problem. I'd recommend looking up the best rated colognes within your price range. Read the reviews, etc.

>>6926742

I personally think that colognes changing with seasons is a bit corny, but you could probably get something with a dry, woody scent. Maybe tobacco or vanilla. Burberry London comes to mind.

You are being a bro. I've been doing the same, but looking for other fragrance besides basic bitch brands.

I'm leaning towards Body Kouru, or La Nuit. For La Nuit I've been reading that it's a night fragrance, but for fall/winter it would be okay since it's colder, also I live in San Francisco so the weather can be downright chilly

>>6926773
Yea, that's what I fear is losing the fragrance within the hour, ADG barely last 2 hours. Only thing that last the day in my small stock is my Ruehl 925

I like Burberry Brit and it's what I'm planning on wearing this fall/winter. I think London smells like Lavender too much, but that can vary from person to person.

Also, SF Bro here. Go to Union Square and try the samples at the various stores there. Hell, you can even make mini cologne samples at Nordstrom and take them home with you. (It's what I did and I took around 8, no problem.)

Ahahaha cool right on. Hmmm might try Burberry Brit. I got $100 to spend, and an extra $75 from my cash back rewards

Yea I go Macy's and Nordstrom. Been trying a lot, reason why I like La Nuit, my get it for daily use during Fall/Winter since fragrance is dependent on climate too. I got a friend who work at Macys, and he gives me mad discounts as long as I pay him in cash along with a service fee. Too bad fragrance department is run by a third party.

Wait...how do you take mini cologne samples? With the sticks?

At Nordstrom (depending on whether the store has them or not), you can spray your cologne of choice into the little vials they have. When you're done, you just put the little spray cap until it clicks tight and you're done. If you can't find them or need help, just ask one of the assistants. They'll even give you a plastic carry bag to take them home with.

La Nuit's a good choice for night time. I'd recommend Brit for day, but it can work night too. Good luck with your search and maybe I'll bump into you when I go downtown next weekend.

YSL La Nuit is great. Buy the larger size though, don't be a fool, such savings. It's borderline feminine without being fruity or floral, the perfect qaulity of an /fa/ scent. Right up there with Perry Ellis White, which is god tier.

they just go to nordstrom?

YSL La Nuit is what I want, but I'm usually in a city setting from 3pm-10pm. I live in SF, and I'm thinking if I should use this during afternoon-evening. People are saying it's strictly night time, others are saying best use for cold weather as well. Your thoughts?

Wouldn't know to be honest. I only go to basenotes to check out the scent compositions of colognes I'm interested in and I rarely check their forums. But I think they might be trading official samples rather than empty vials which are filled up in store. But hey, the cologne's more important than the bottle it's in.
>>6926923
SF guy again. If you want to use it to its full potential, those are the best times and weather. But using it in the day is probably acceptable as long as it's not bright or warm. Got to match the cologne to the setting. It's why I change my cologne to the season, because woody scents in summer is just as off as citrus and sea scents in the winter.

I used to wear both L'homme and then La nuit - the latter is more versatile imo. it can be worn both during the day and night, smells very fresh and everybody loves it. It's a great, basic scent, if you want peeps to think you're the cleanest dude around, but it's not very interesting, for good and for worse. Plus the bottle is cute.

OP, i believe Eau de Cologne is the weakest. Its usually just sold as a "cologne splash" version of the fragrance.

Dont worry too much about EdT vs EdP unless you find a review that states specifically that you should buy the EdP.

I have EdT's that last just as long and are just as potent as EdPs. The quality of the juice is what matters more, not the concentration.

Currently wearing Eau de Gentiane Blanche by Hermès. It's flowery and musky, but in a kind of cold, metallic way which is nice because I dislike powdery musks.

Also Amazingreen which I kind of like
