Cop: Nike 3M Windrunner (Style #459372-098) Size M
Shop: eBay
Paid: $350 USD

This was my grail for quite a while. It finally came up on eBay a few weeks ago and I jumped on it. There are still a couple XLs here and there, but Ms are pretty rare.

Aesthetically, the jacket is top notch. It's in line with the typical windrunner style, but with some extra nice details that set it apart and hopefully justify the increase in price. First would be obvious: the 3M surface coating lights up at night when exposed to a directional light source, like headlights, flashlights, or camera flash. During the day, the jacket is charcoal colored, and the coating gives the jacket a subtle iridescence which is a really nice look. It's hard to see in photos but it looks very pleasing to the eye, almost like the surface of pearl or hematite.

Additionally, the jacket has a cut-away Nike logotype backed by a patch of reversed 3M fabric, as opposed to the typical embroidered logo on most Windrunners. Whereas the usual model has drawstrings to cinch the hood, the 3M version has a plastic cinch mechanism that adds to the technical aesthetic. The zippers have been upgraded as well, with a black zipper pull and a zipper that blends smoothly into the surface of the jacket.

The fabrics all feel very smooth and are resistant to wrinkling. I've worn the jacket in a couple light rainshowers and it repelled the water nicely. The interior fabric has a very soft touch but is not absorbent at all. The jacket tends to heat up pretty quickly in the sun, so you probably wouldn't want to wear it for running or cycling. It's not very breathable, so it's more suited for fall weather and light activity. The 3M fabric shows surface stains readily, but they can easily be washed off with a damp sponge.

forgot my trip lel

Continued:

The jacket fits true-to-size for a men's medium. It's cut trim and athletic like typical Nike stuff, but it has a slightly billowing profile compared to other Nike jackets. The zipper tends to protrude from the chest a little bit, especially when zipped all the way up. This is a pretty minor issue however that doesn't detract too much from the look, but if you are after a very trim silhouette in the chest you may want to look elsewhere. Another minor gripe is that when you zip it up you have to be careful not to catch the flap of fabric behind the zipper in the zip. I've caught it a couple times, which is starting to wear the 3M coating slightly.

Overall I give this jacket an 8/10 and hopefully I'll be rocking it for years to come.

Personally form > function with this one. Its nice, and pretty warm, but I could have gotten a much "higher quality" one if I really wanted to with the same money. The design and colors killed it for me though, nothing else like it out there unless im talkin' like retro thrift shop stuff.

Pretty sure you can see everything here, I'm about 6"1 for size comparison. Back has a slight elliptical dip of about 5cm at its lowest.

Cop: Norse Projects x Elka Raincoat
Where: Superfuture
$$$$: $75 USD

>how it compares to other similar garments
You wil literally not feel rain on the places it covers, it's 100% fully waterproof

>Form + function review
Just looks like a raincoat, the flap on the back looks quirky i guess
The hood looks really funny cause it comes to a point, it would look fine if it was actually raining hard though
The only way I found I could offset how hilarious it looks was by putting a cap under it

Looks vibrant in the sun but you don't want to be wearing in in harsh sunlight becauseeee

IT TRAPS IN SWEAT HARD
I made the mistake of not taking it off after the rain cleared up and my pits were moist in around 5 minutes
Keeping out rain-wise it's perfect

>Fabrics, quality, durability
The outside is polyurethane, and the inside is nylon, it's pretty durable/well constructed, seeing as it's an elka collab

>Pics of details you wouldn't see online
I'll take requests

>Sizing
its baggy, but there's a drawstring at the bottom to pull it in a bit to adjust it, but you can't change the waist at all so I'd recommend either trying it on or sizing on the lower side
It isn't meant to fit slim tough, If you look at the pic you can see it's just a straight block (It's a raincoat though, so it makes sense)

>rate 1-10
For the purpose it serves (raincoat, for rain), i'd give it an 8, but there are better solutions out there not cause of goretex and such
Keep in mind this doesn't let much moisture out so don't wear anything heavy under it

I dont have a whole lot to compare it to as this is my first selectively permeable jacket but its waterproofing is quite effective all the way up to torrential downpour for quite a while. I was walking around in a heavy rainstorm and it kept my body down to my knees pretty much totally dry. Its quite breathable, i feel comfortable wearing it for long periods of time. The color is on point, and the craftsmanship feels great, no stitches out of line or flaws noticeable to my untrained eye. Im sure its water-proofing and breathability falls short of arcteryx veilance or nanamica level coats, but for the price range i find it exceeded my expectations. The sleeves come to points so as to keep your hands more dry, and the adjustability is great. The fit is great, i usually wear a medium and its spot on.

havent owned anything similar, i dont know if there even is anything that similar to them
>form + function review
idk what to say about the form, either you like it or you dont. theyre very stiff so its not like they look any different while youre walking in them compared to pictures, theyre pretty much the same irl as you would see online. for function, theyre super comfortable, fit like a glove, feet do not slide around at all in them. kind of hard to take on and off as a result but idc. the lift is through the whole shoe so theyre easy to walk in, they give ~2" lift which lenthens out your leg a lot
>fabrics, quality, durability
very high quality leather, the rope is hemp which frays slightly with wear, the lift is a dense spongey foam, sole is tough rubber, its worn only very slightly at the heel. the stitching, brogueing, construction is all perfect.
>pics of details you wouldn't notice online
the insole is two peices, a tan colour at the front, and a black piece with "prada" printed on it at the back of the shoe. the sizing is printed on the inside of the shoe. idk theres tons of pics online

Hydrogen-1 sneakers

Bought on their site

paid $100

Feels like a high end sneaker, made in same factory that lanvin, gucci and other designers make their shit.

Looks good with long pants, blue kinda pops and the grey keeps the blue in check and compliments it. Love the cap toe design.

Calf skin inside and out feels nice, suede has a nice nap to it

Leather is soft and may crease easy (other leathers they have seem thicker and less prone to creasing), have yet to field test.

True to size

Both from Zara:

"Knitted Pants" (black)
$80
Fits much nicer than my black chinos (asos)
Fits perfectly, surprised that it's so comfortable. Something I've noticed is that I can bend my leg without the pants rising from my ankle.
Sizing was slightly big in the waist, but I have a small frame and it only came in S, M, L.

overall 9/10 piece

"Black Slim Shoes" (black)
$70
I like the style of the shoes
They aren't uncomfortable to wear
They look cheap (they're polyeurethane) which is what I was dreading
You can tell they aren't leather but only up close
Also, online they look dark brown but in person they are truly jet black. (they're listed as black but the pictures are deceptive)

Rag and Bone faux moleskin leggings
Paid about 250 CAD
I bought them in Aritzia. I was initially in for a pair of slim trousers (in-house, $80) for an interview but the ones that fit me best were 7/8 length and hit at the wrong length. Since I already have black, I tried on the burgundy.
The lead sales girl suggested the Rag and Bone leggings to me. They're a bit less formal than I was going for, but in 25 they fit like a dream (my waist is 23" but I usually wear 25 in denim). They feel incredible and the colour seems like it will stay true although burgundy seems a bit trendy/too statement-making.
I'll probably return them tomorrow. They're lovely, but the color doesn't feel like me and I spent three times What I budgeted. Also I got the job just wearing a cutesy skirt

Fjallraven direct

$110

Only two pockets with nothing inside to organize. Secondary pocket is not accessible without undoing the straps like advertised unless it's loosened and folded up high all weird. Main pocket is very deep and annoying to reach all the way into. Main pocket is divided in two, padded for a laptop, and a bit wider than standard paper. Straps annoying to buckle but simple enough. Easy to lug around and put on.

Extremely dense fabric and sturdy straps. Water rolls right off. Thick metal hardware. Leather logo on outside and leather "Designed by" patch inside. Small inconspicuous Swedish flag tag on back side. "G-1000" embroidered on back top corner.

8/10 Quality, but basic and annoying.

these.fucking.pants
This is exactly why I shouldnt be out shopping on an empty stomach. In my delirium I think things like this would be "cool" and something "new to try on".

>where you got it
"Saigon Square" market

>what you paid for it
100k dong, $4.50

>how it compares to other similar garments
I dont do prints. At all. So this is new

>form + function review
Pants, the bottom is supposed to be tight so like a lite version of Harlem pants, also the crotch is not low. Will take a pic later or tomorrow with me wearing them and post it here if the thread is still up

>fabrics, quality, durability
All cotton

>pics of details you wouldn't notice online
a fucking hole in one of the pockets. Cant complain much for the price tho

>sizing: true-to-size or not?
Its one of those "one size fits all"

Cop: Artu Napoli sweater Size S
Shop: Your-Antwerp
Paid:$160

>how it compares to other similar garments
Above average, Its nothing compared to cheaper woollen sweaters, so fucking soft and no stingy feeling at all. Colour is also just right for me
>>form + function review
it is cut a bit big for being a size small but Its a very warm one so I constantly use it for layering under jackets and then it just looks perfect.
>fabrics, quality
Superfine lambswool, a bit costly but certainly worth it, feels and looks amazing. I don't know about durability yet but I dare to hope it will last.
>sizing: true-to-size or not?
A bit larger than true to size.
>rate 1-10
I like it a lot I'll give it a 7/10

COP: Silent Damir Doma 'Silvan shirt'
Bought off FarFetch for $120 reduced from $220ish

It lacks the traditional yoke on dress shirts incorparating a raglan with a normal sleeve seam. Also gone are the french seams replaced with overlocked plus about 10mm stitch line over the whole garment. Also finished in a kind of coffee stained effect.
What can i see its a dress shirt that does its job?
100% cotton, made in Romania, about the same fabric quality as the average $100-200 dress shirt
Its looks alot boxier in real life, no back darts, pleats or gathers.
Sizing is true on the shoulders, neck is abit lose when top buttoned. Arms fit real slim but the cuff button needs to be readjusted as to not slide so far down on my smaller wrists. Also like above, real boxy, plenty of excess around the body but thats to be expected from such a designer. Would recommend sizing down if you don't need the wide shoulder width

To maintain that sweater you should be sure it dries thoroughly. Never let it stay wet, that'll rot the fibers. I recommend putting it in the dryer on high for at least an hour after each wash

I ordered this stuff last night. I don't know why it was so difficult to get a simple and flow-y white skirt, but I finally found one.

What do you guys think?
