How can I get stylists to understand me when I ask for the ol' hitler youth, they always fuck it up somehow, too long on sides, they fade it, etc. What does /fa/ ask for.

alternatively, take a photo when you get your next one and show that to the hairdresser and tell them what you didn't like about it. Rinse and repeat until you have it how you want.

"disconnected top' should prove useful, will go for that next time. Should i use "buzzed " on the sides, or a gaurd number, how do I relay the idea of REALLY FUCKING SHORT.

whenever i say "1" for a guard number its too long, my hair is kinda dark, is no gaurd risky, does it look like shit? never tried it.

I've never gotten the hitler youth in particular, so I never had to cut it that short on the sides. But a number 1 guard is a buzz cut, you will still have some length.

No guard would be REALLY close to the skin I would imagine. I use it on my beard when it gets too long to be shaved with a razor, leaves a slight stubble. Don't take my word for it though, my beard is different from my actual hair.

You're always better off doing it yourself. Cut a part along the back of your crown with a comb and clipper it down. Having a friend help helps with the back. 9/10 times, even with a picture, the high school dropout hair stylist will cut the back too high or presume you want some kind of fohawk shit.

But really, it's not 2011. Plenty of better options out there.
