Should I buy some docs /fa/? It will be my first pair of leather boots so im a bit unsure about what to wear them with.

Winter is coming (britfag) and I want a good pair of solid and functional boots that still look pretty decent. Going to go with the 10 holes because I can't decide on those or 8's and this way I can trim them down if I like.

Inb4 get military boots. Not a fan.

docs are great, they look fine with most jeans (especially darker colours which since you're on /fa/ you probably wear anyway)
don't just order them online though, find a docs shop or reseller and actually try them on cus the sizing is a little funny - people often size down.

You couldn't pay me to wear Docs, they just look and feel cheap to me. I don't know how easy they are to get in the UK, but Chippewa Apaches are much better for about the same price

I got some Doc 1460s and it's been 2 days, and I have a blister on my left pinky toe. It's a bitch to deal with, and there are strategies to break in boots faster, but I'd rather just do it by walking around my house in them with thick socks.

To hell with that. Take a hairdryer to the inside to heat it up before you put them on. Softens them up, after a few wears they're golden

Not if you only do it the first few times you wear the boots. And certainly less than soaking them would.

It's worth the risk to avoid pain while you break them in

Speaking of docs I've got a pair of oxbloods, what polish do i use on them? I haven't been able to find any "oxblood" polish, and the vendor told me I'd be stuck using neuter polish and that cherry red would ruin the color I'm going for. I have abrasions on the sides where my ankles have been rubbing together, and I'm not sure how to go over them if I can't use an opaque polish. what do?
