It's not. Stop frying it and matting it down with oils and creams. Let it dry naturally and gently work from there. Don't let it get too long, either.

I am a curly q and have my days of hating it. Those are days when I'm forcing it to do something it won't. The less attention I pay to it the better imo.

my hair is actually really thin too, and hidden under my hair is a less than ideal hairline (I just have a high forehead), so don't think you can't pull off a curly HY just because of those factors. I thought I wouldn't be able to as well but took the plunge a year ago and haven't looked back since!
