I just ordered some Wolverine 1000 Mile boots, but I own no boot oil or protective product, nor do I own shoe trees.

Could /fa/ recommend what to buy?

If you're looking for a specific brand, I've always gone with Kiwi. Widely available and fairly cheap --it does the job and I've never been dissatisfied.

Get some sort of protector and polish. As far as cleaning goes, a damp (not extremely wet, damp) rag should do the trick.

Shoe trees can obviously be avoided by stuffing the boots.

Assuming you're in a colder climate, beware of rock salt. You can definitely remove the stains it leaves, but I'm pretty sure it isn't good for the leather in the long run.

I vaguely remember reading that mink oil is now frowned upon for boots, and that some other product should be used.

Hm.

That's exactly what I was remembering when I made my previous post. This is perfect.

Thanks a ton, anon.

I usually do, but it's easier to get replies when I make my own thread. There are a lot of ignored questions in fuccboi threads.

Well shit. This is good to know.
Thanks Anon who posted that.

Yeah, the fuccboi threads are pretty much useless. I don't recommend using them. They're just there to quarantine the noobs

>> No.6815696

>>6815687
What? I regularly answer people in there. They're good threads, and no offense, mendicant IS a noob.

I'm getting there! ;_;

I didn't say he wasn't. But you ARE going to get a lot more responses by posting your own thread than by asking in the fuccboi general. The reason those threads exist isn't because they help newcomers more, it's because they herd them into one thread to de-clutter the first page.

>> No.6815735

>>6815728

I dunno, I'll try and post in the fuccboi threads more often. While I would get more replies, I don't want to shit up /fa/; seems pretty selfish of me.

>> No.6815747

>>6815735
chances are you're pushing an "is smoking /fa/" thread off the front page. I wouldn't worry too much about "shitting up" the board

>> No.6815752

>>6815728
Quite a few of the dumb question threads I saw today got shitposted into oblivion, but I can see the merit in your post.

Fair enough.

Thanks for being a cool guy, hipster.

why are you so mad man?

Must suck to be you if you have to exude your elitism over threads like this.
