It's cool and hip to look superficially sad and broken and angsty.

It's not cool or hip to actually be sad or broken or angsty.

But don't take this the wrong way: sad poseurs aren't cool either... mainly because they're poseurs.

Basically, the appeal of angst is only skin-deep. If your angst extends deeper down, then it's just pointless surplus that people will find repulsive once they *actually* get to know you.
