I wanna get into workwear and need some inspiration.
Thought I'd start with a nice denim jacket, is levi's slim fit trucker jacket a good cop? What else could I buy? Bronze or hunter pants, maybe? I want to avoid too much denim.

>> No.6776982

I like how fags think work-wear will make them look manly.

Ever notice how the actual working class doesn't wear this shit anymore? It's because they know it's the /fa/gget uniform

>> No.6777002

>>6776982
I'm not the op but, I wear workwear because I enjoy the durability of it. A nice denim jacket or boots can last several years and it only gets a better patina as it ages.

>> No.6777007

>>6776982

Just because it has been replaced with some more practical fabrics or boiler suits doesn't make it shit, or does it? And what if I just like the way it looks?

>> No.6777036

>>6776982
I see rugged people that look more authentic who wear shit like this

you know flannels boots looser pants etc etc

not slim fit flannel skinny jeans and doc martens that's some fake ass shit

>> No.6777053

>>6777007
It's not shit but the rugged, manly, connotations have severely faded from this style.

>> No.6777061

>>6776982
The working class never dressed like this for any reasons other than it being readily available or mandated.

Now the compulsory work uniforms for the working class are different, and the readily available off-work clothes are H&M Zara usually what I'm dressed in.

They just happened to look good at one point in time because the conditions were favorable for it. Now fast fashion killed it.

>> No.6777073

>>6777053

I like the stuff anyway, so what? I just asked for some inspirations, I don't even care about appearing manly. If I want to appear manly, I act manly, not dress manly.

What working class are you guys talking about? Restaurant employees?

There's plenty of construction workers and factory workers and landscapers and truck drivers and drillers and dockworkers and etcetera. They wear lots of denim and canvas and flannel and leather. Not slim-fit, but they've actually gotta work in it.

Nowhere will you find a blue collar dude who looks like OP. I work at an auto parts plant and they all wear big baggy hoodies, cartharts and woodland cameo. If they don't sell it at Wal-Mart or Cabella's they ain't wearing it.

>> No.6777233

>>6777197
workwear isn't literally wear that you wear to work you fucking idiots. Its just a name given to the rugged manly look that is "meanswear"

god damnit go back to /r9k/ you fucking autism ridden neckbeards

>> No.6777262

I just want some goddamn inspiration, how hard can this be? How do you idiots get along everyday if you rage about some ambiguous term so hard?

>> No.6777307

>>6777197
What this guy said is true

>>6777061
This guy too.

The only "rugged manly men" who do dress like this do so by pure accident. A lot of that canvas and denim is picked up for hunting/fishing trips just because it's practical.
Even then, that's usually not the case since we have camo etc etc etc.

The only time you'll seen this worn by men with more chest hair than OP is in a Sears catalog.
(Addendum: The incredibly rare instance you just find someone who genuinely enjoys a certain product)

>>6777262
Don't try to mimic a certain look, you'll end up appearing a bit off, goofy, and otherwise fake.
Be yourself, dress yourself, wear what you like and fuck what everyone else says.

>> No.6777314

>>6777262
Also, in case you're just trying to look nice or whatever...
Go by people's compliments.
You don't have to be some creative genius to be accepted into society. If somebody says they like the way you look, then you're probably doing an okay job.

>> No.6777379

Does anyone know why the a momontaro denim jacket is 100$ cheaper on okayama denim than it is on blue ownl?

>> No.6777385

>>6777314

I think I'm doing a good job dressing myself, but why shouldn't I try something else? I wear basic shirts, tees, simple shoes (sneakers as well as derbys, etc), chinos, jeans, a bit preppy. Why not spicing things up with a little denim and heavier shoes and saturated, warm colors? Why not? I'm sure it can work, and I don't want to evoke any lifestyle. At last, it's just clothing ...

I love that point in a thread's life where the trolls eventually get tired and leave, and the thread resumes it's original purpose.
Eventually they will return and kill the thread, but in the meantime there will be a brief period of productivity.
