This suit jacket was on sale but they only had long sizes. What should I ask the tailor to do to it besides shorten it two inches in the sleeves and the length? Do you think the pocket placement would look stupid(they're non functional by the way)?

>> No.6771939

The pocket flaps are going to look horrible after you get it shortened. I really don't know how well it's going to turn out regardless. The buttons are too low (and can't be raised without destroying the lapels), arm holes look too big, it just generally doesn't look right. For what it would cost to fix properly, you could just get a new jacket

Go in wearing it and ask him to make it fit

i dont know if it would look any better but what if the pockets were like cut in half to make them shorter too?

I got the jacket for $54 dollars a few weeks ago. I like it and rather try to fix it than sell it but if like >>6771939
said it's unsalvageable I might have too.

On the models on the website the length looks ok on me but the sleeves still look too long. Should I just try to fix the sleeves?

Your shoulders are too narrow and a suit only emphasizes that. Having an alterations done is a waste of money because you'll like stupid with it on unless you transform from a manlet.

Great price on the jacket, super 110 or 120 wool is pretty solid. Unfortunately you don't have the proper build for a jacket/suit (dem feminine shoulders). I suppose you could try having the tailor pad the shoulders more as well.

I'm 6 foot 180. I'm fat and not very manlet.

So whats wrong with your shoulders and why would you button the top button on the jacket?

I thought I wasn't supposed to button the button button of jackets?

Also, I don't know what's wrong with my shoulders. No one ever said anything about them before. The jacket is a 42L, I should of got a 40R I think.

True most of the time, but you do find the oddball jacket cut to button it. This isn't one of them, you did right

And your shoulders are fine, it's just the jacket that makes them look small. I promise you that thing is beyond fixing. A 40R (or maybe 38R) is what you need

>> No.6772224

OP, the sleeves need to be modified, not the overall length.
The rule of thumb is: a jacket should be like a good attorney, it should cover your ass.
And from the picture, it looks like a good length.

Network Administrator but I live in western pennsylvania and grew up around rednecks. Fishing, quads, farms, drinkin etc.

Those fits aren't even very woodsy so I don't know how you'd guess that.

>>6772190
I'm kind of disappointed in myself. I never bought a suit jacket before and I thought I was a 42. They had a 40L left and that promotion is over. How much do you think I get for it?

>>6772224
Though I'll probably have to get rid of it I'd like to hear some more opinions. So you think it would look ok if I got the sleeves done only and nothing in the shoulders or length?

I really like seeing your fits because you started off really shit and now you're well still shit but improving. Nice to know people can learn and improve from /fa/.

Naw they are Nordstrom but I wouldn't pay full price for them. I ripped them twice. They do look cool though. The fabric looks nice and the pocket details are nice.

Once I don't know what happened because I got drunk/high/on mushrooms and the ass got ripped.

Second time they got ripped when I went on a ride at the fair with a qt3.14 and the knee ripped by the bar.

The fit is ok, mine were tucked into the boots in that pic. I bought them after seeing this

You really think that my more recent fits are still shit? I mean they aren't perfect but come on, still better than a lot of the people in the WAYWT.

Ehh when I say shit I mean you probs dress better than most people irl and our waywt's are usually kinda bad. And i'm not implying I dress really well , far from it actually. I'm here to improve just as much as you are. But you make few mistakes that you shouldn't which I cannot be fucked to point out because i'm sleepy but basically .. keep doing ur thing cause ur getting better
