Because this is /fa/, and we treat buzzwords like incantations. Probably the only reason people aren't talking about "lunarninja" is because poet probably told someone off for doing it in an early thread.

How not? "Technical" is, for good or ill, the catch-all adjective used to describe clothes that are built to do more than look good. The only other alternative is "performance."

Personally, I say "techwear." It's universally understood, including off the board, and doesn't involve spurious appropriation of an orientalist stock image of feudal Japanese special forces.
