He said "I suggest tucking in your shirt". as in tucking the shirt you have under it into your pants so it doesn't hang out the bottom of the jacket.

He wants one for everyday wear. Also don't go as the driver for halloween, you're going to look silly. I don't have the picture, but someone made a collage of all the failed driver fits they could find. Plus one dog who pulls it off.

Is 'being /fa/' (whatever that actually means is highly debatable) actually more important to you guys than what you personally like? Why do you try so desperately to measure yourself against some made up standard and care so much for other people's opinions? I understand the desire to look your best but not in every single situation... As long as you're healthy and fit you should cut yourself some slack. Otherwise you become exactly what you fear, a simple minded, boring individual with no creativity.

Certain garments, well used in costume design, become characters in the movie. By the end of Drive, the scorpion jacket is slashed, bloodied and battered. It undergoes a change, it's a visual symbol.
Nerds enter the equation (STEM, no doubt) and recognize the jacket as a character in the film on a subconscious level. It becomes totemic, it becomes seemingly imbued with all the strength and competence of a main character who's otherwise so underdeveloped that projecting anything you'd like onto him is easy enough to be completely convincing or at least barely noticeable. The Driver becomes whoever you want him to be, and that jacket is his totem. When the kids down at the Games Workshop watched the movie, Driver became a mysteeeerious autistic loner whose lack of social skills was made up for by his epic technical knowhow and implacable sense of honor (blow me). Ergo, they should buy this jacket.

Why a quilted scorpion jacket? Because people actually wore shit like that in certain circles during the time period this movie is aping.

Why do people like Drive so much?

I really don't think being as emotionally distant as the Driver is as effay as you guys make it out to be. I've held that mentality for most of my life, and while I'll say it's great being able to function in any situation, it caused me a lot of problems with my personal relationships from not communicating enough, and I frequently struggled with understanding my own feelings.
