What have you copped, lately?

I picked them up today, guys. These photos are really bad: but there's no light and I don't have the equipment or skills do make nice ones anyway.

Made to Order RM Williams Yearlings, in Whiskey.

I took a bit of a risk with these, because I tried on a 9/12 and a 10 1/2. There were no tens. The former seemed too tight, latter too loose.

Length-wise the seem all right, but the width? It's a G. Seems a little wider than I'd like: I believe he mentioned these only come in the one width. I am wearing dress socks, though. I'd probably wear something thicker with these and that should be fine.

I just said you don't have to. it's in the post above yours.

and the two generalizations you made up and greentexted aren't contradictory. I was talking about taking an abstract approach to the rule of thirds. I wasn't using "abstract" as a synonym for "aberrant" or "out-of-the-box" (because that's not what it means). I meant you that you have to use some aspects of the rule rather than taking a hard-and-fast type of approach. if you look it up it will say something like dividing a composition into 9 boxes with 4 lines and placing items of a composition along those lines. unlike most paintings or photos, there's not really items/objects on a dip-dyed shirt; there's just that divide between the two colors. however I brought up the example of a horizon line as an analogy.

and yeah, I only had a problem with people saying I didn't understand the rule or that it couldn't be applied. I know it doesn't have to be, but it most definitely can be.

trips other than user and fascist on this board are fucking terrible btw. why do you want to be a trip if you're just gonna greentext some bullshit and type one word. go back to /b/

sure, i totally agree with this, i just think of things like the rule of thirds as kind of just a guideline to think about visual perception of something.

i mainly just take issue with people laying down absolutist language or trying to apply rules to attempt to justify how they feel about a design, implying that it gives their personal opinion more weight

I think I'm pretty much in agreement w you man, just not that other dude trunks.

it's probably more a personal pref with the dips more than anything else, but it's supported by that rule so I mentioned it. I studied art history at uni (which is nothing to brag about tbh), but I think I have developed a pretty good eye and knowledge of formal analysis. not going to let fucks on 4chan tell me I don't understand something like this (sry that's a bit rude)

silly that I've put so much time into arguing about minor details between dip-dyed sweats, but it happens I guess.

I'm not kidding though. You're looking better than usual. A little conservative, but fine. The beard is working.

Why no shoes in the pic? No fit is complete without shoes (and for that matter, seeing how the pants fit around the bottom). 1k miles?

Don't love the color of the pants so much, especially with the shirt. With your jacket you look fine, with the jacket off you look like dad coming home from work.

man, life is more fun when you appreciate a variety of shoes and a variety of materials, not just ones that fit a very specific vision.

I'll grant that any moc toe boots I like probably wouldn't fit your style or your wardrobe. But if you can't see anything to like in those boots, I think you're missing out.

It's like people who insist on not enjoying rap music (although less autistic). Maybe rap isn't the music that speaks to them the most. But life is so much richer when you learn to appreciate it for what makes it uniquely interesting.

I also should say I don't think it's the same as saying you should be able to appreciate low quality the way some naive buyers do (which I would not say); their tastes are the result of ignorance, confusion and imprecise vision, and when they deepen their knowledge and have a more refined vision, that leads to a richer enjoyment of clothing.

yeah it's all p. bad, i really regret doing that whole "buying the basics thing"

why didn't i see back then i should have jumped straight to goof? would have been so much easier than wasting my time and money with mfa tier dadcore

I just feel like for basics, you shouldn't really skimp on quality stuff, and buying target brand stuff and vans just amounts to having to buy new basics every couple months.

>> No.6693375

>>6693239
>>6693287
Agreed. I think the purchases I regret the most are the cheap alternatives to things. You're just gonna end up buying expensive shit later on if you stick around enough, and then you'll be mad that you have all the shitty basic stuff you bought.
Also, no matter what you think now, you will be trying to achieve monochrome in the future. Its inevitable.

don't like the shirts or the Vans. Don't know enough about the jeans. good cop on the iron rangers.

you need some basic shirts. I don't mean t-shirts, I mean shirts.
