Can we discuss Levi's 511 and 510's? What does /fa/ think of them. Personally I like them and copped a pair of 11's today and have no regrets.

I don't like the back pocket stitching (or any back pocket stitching for that matter). the black 510s with black stitching are bearable I guess (a couple friends have those; not sure if they do the same for 511s, but prob)

I also find that 511s are too baggy (and the rise should not be so homo for a pant that's not very skinny). and I find 510s to be too skinny.

but I'm pretty picky so I taper uniqlo slim fits.

the rise measurement refers to the position they sit on your abdomen. high rise means the distance is longer, and the top of the waistband is closer to your true waist, and a low rise means the distance is shorter, nearer to your hip.

>> No.6676738

>>6676735

sorry the rise = distance from the bottom of the crotch to the top of the waistband.

I'm pretty loyal to Levi's. I've got a couple pair of Hedi era Dior jeans, but day to day I prefer Levi's. Really versatile since lately I prefer dressing down. I probably have a good 30 pairs of Levi's since you can cop em for like $20 on sale. Skating and late nights leave them pretty shredded or well worn and after a year or two I turn em into cutoffs. 510s def have more tapering under the knee, but after a couple months they tend to stretch pretty heavily.

funny thing is from a design perspective there isn't really enough of a difference to merit a 510.5 jean. we are all just super picky. the difference is literally like an inch through the leg. it's interesting how it can feel so different to us

well yeah if you're a more "high fashion" designer it makes sense because that's the entire spectrum you're working with. keep in mind levi's also does 501s and even more relaxed fits, so they are probably never going to make something between a 510 and 511.

I just tapered a pair of jeans myself and it's amazing what starting at the knee and going down to a single inch skinnier at the ankle will do to fit.

just do moar squats&oats to fit into slightly larger jeans.

also, i'm a self-confessed pleb who knows shit about this stuff but i;'ve always considered levi's to be the working man's jeans and not really upper-tier /fa/.

i've got short legs so jeans are always too long. i usually just let 'em stack.

depends on what you want. if a cleaner look fits you then roll/cuff them or get them tailored if you want to get really clean and commit to it, stacks vary the silhouette and have a different feeling
