Am I the only one who actually prefers this to heat? I'll sometimes turn the heat on for half an hour or so after coming home, but I like cold temperatures and most of the time I'm just in a thick sweater or under crazy thick blankets until the room temperature gets too cold for that and I'd have to break out a parka and/or sleeping bag.. I miss the thick blankets when it starts getting hot.

tbh, I don't remember wording of it. I think it's the latter. Still, I see a lot of people whose heat isn't controlled by a thermostat in their own place. The heat just runs all winter and they open windows to cool things down.

I don't know Chicago's real estate market at all, but $600k for a three story building in the third largest city in the US does not strike me as a horrible deal.

Also, the guy looking at buying it was looking at it as a rental property, which AFAIK it is now.

Lastly, the US is lousy with old industrial cities with empty warehouses and spaces like this, and they'll be much cheaper. Hell, you could probably squat one in Detroit and get a letter of thanks from the city.

I used to have a room with big windows high up. It's pretty, but overrated. The city lights keep you up at night, the morning light wakes you too early, no matter how cool your A/C is it still feels like a greenhouse by midday. And most blinds will be ugly
