If you want help, I'd suggest no cords, they're not suiting you or anyone at all. Also, don't get t-shirts with buttons, they aren't too nice, I'd suggest changing that over with black pants and a plain t-shirt but a regular neck. And the flannel is decent though a hoodie/sweater could be a lot nicer, or a oxford shirt perhaps. And the shoes are shinning to much for me to say anything but they look decent enough.

few things that need work here

-fit of the trousers needs some work, esp where it gets baggy from the knee down. with a more fitted top half like that you're looking for an equally well fitted bottom, perhaps even cropped. alternatively get a longer, more draping tee but still tweak the pants / substitute so their silhouette is more consistent

Well shit you're being super polite and now I feel guilty for being so abrasive.

For starters, contrast is key. Black is so popular because it's so damn dark it creates contrast with just about every color, including all skin colors.

Anyway, on top of the base color of the shirt not having much contrast against your skin color, the pattern of the shirt doesn't have much contrast within itself. The leaves are very light green and the flowers are almost pastels. This shirt would work on mid-dark black dude. The dark skin would provide nice contrast for all those colors I just mentioned. Just doesn't work for a white dude, especially when he's wearing a white tee underneath.

Let's get to the pants now. Extremely saturated mid-light blue. You could pull off a blue like that if it were desaturated and on a shirt. I personally like to avoid light colors on pants. As a rule of thumb, light colors make things look bigger, dark colors make things look smaller. For this reason, black jeans and a white tee will almost always look infinitely better than white jeans and a black tee on a male because we value large torsos. Bottom-heavy silhouettes are feminine. Think: wide hips, nice legs, petite arms, slim shoulders.
You don't want that.

Another thing with the pants: there's not much contrast between that blue and the color of the shirt. They're both fairly light colors. If the pants were a dark desaturated blue this fit would already go up a solid 2 or 3 points out of ten.

In my opinion, the pants can't be saved. The shirt is ugly but you could honestly pull it off with the right outfit. Dark pants are a must, getting rid of the white undershirt is equally important. I don't really like your shirt; I think it's ugly, but with a dark blue or maroon jacket over it I think the washed out pastiness of it could be balanced a bit better.

Bad. Your shoulders are too narrow and your hips are too wide for the dunks. You need a top-heavier silhouette or a smoother taper towards the bottom-heaviness of the dunks. Look at User's fits if you need ideas for pulling off bottom-heavy silhouettes. Your hips are disruptive here so I think your best bet is a bulky jacket.

I personally think mid-gray denim has to be tight with a lot of stacks to look good. I see what you're going for with the grayscale gradient. It's a good idea. I think I see the stripes now. Makes me like it less tbh. I believe you about the fit though. You've got the body to pull off boxier tees so I won't ask you to change that aspect.

As far as shoes go it sounds like you just need a staple you can wear with anything. Get a pair of black/black sneakers in whatever model you're fond of. I personally really like Keds Pro Champion plimsolls though I know most of the board doesn't feel the same. They basically look like socks with a sole but I love that. Super sleek.

Boots are a solid alternative but a bit more restricting in the sense that they can be physically uncomfortable to wear in the wrong weather.

I really love the color of the shirt but idk how I feel about it in the outfit. It's so dark. Looks good with your skin/hair but kind of kills the contrast I would like to see between pants/shirt. I have a dark blue shirt and it's hard for me to wear for the same reason. Looks good with my skin/hair but I don't like wearing pants lighter than my shirt and that doesn't leave me with many options other than black which doesn't even look that great with it. Dark colored shirts are also tougher to layer with.
