veganism isn't about being some absolute perfect deity, it's about consciously avoiding the use of animal products as much as you can. In a world that uses animals so much, a person can't be expected to be somehow perfect. Yes, that is a sad fact.
I really think the most cruelty free way to shop (sadly) is high end and custom. When you go to smaller production runs you tend to avoid most of the abuses inherent in the large scale factory format. I'm of the opinion (and this is partly why i was giving you shit up there) that it's total bullshit how some people will pay more for cruelty free products while wearing and using things made by real live human beings literally living in factories for subhuman wages.

So I think artisanal stuff might be for you. Expensive as hell, but you only buy once.
