My boots are about 1 inch too large, and they are brand new.
They will only grow with time.
How can I make them fit more snugly? I do not want to return them.

>1 inch

you're fucked

they'll crease way behind the toe box and they will look like clown shoes

they must feel terrible to wear

my heel just comes up a lot when i step
would insoles fix the problem?

>> No.6621057

or would it be best to re order

Try insoles and/or wearing thicker socks, do it asap get it out of the way.
Then, you can fall back on re-ordering.

You're meant to downsize with Dr. Marten's, they'll just stretch even more if you wear them in. Return.

how much will they stretch?

after lacing properly (much more tight) this is where the crease is

they feel pretty comfortable

Depends on how much you wear them. I'm breaking mine in at the moment, when I first got them they made my toes numb, now they don't.

Sounds like it will be best to return them and wait another week for a pair :(

>> No.6621099

They will be a pain in the neck to break in though. Maybe do some googling around first before you make your decision, it definitely sounds like they're too big though.

I plan on keeping them for a long time, so once they expand, theyll be far more comfortable

Also, will Doc Martens accept a return for these boots?

If they're in their original condition, yes. Not so sure if you've pulled the tags off and stuff though.

I left all tags on!!! One of the few times I haven't ripped them off. What a nightmare that would be, I'd be down 130 bucks.

Thanks mate.

Perhaps I should keep this pair until the next pair arrives, then decide which fits best

Yeah, returning them will be fine.
When I got mine, I wore them for five hours a day around the house with thick socks on. You can find loads of tricks for breaking them in online but don't do anything stupid like soak them in water or set them on fire.
