My work is going from a casual to business casual dress code.

If I had a budget of a few hundred dollars, what are some essentials so I can make a few outfits?

I definitely need some brown shoes, plenty of shirts, and maybe a navy suit or blazer. Could someone help me out? I also need dress pants, but I really like slim taper'd ones and I'm not sure where to find it.

My biggest concern is shoes. I need a pair or two could someone help me out?

Also I have light, light skin. So dark and bright colors don't go well with me.

Can't ever go wrong with black shoes, charcoal or black suit and a sober tie.

Why is indigo and brown never ok for interviews?....

That picture is useless. Grey is never OK for a funeral, don't listen to it.

It seems dated to me. I feel like lighter colors are more modern now and more versatile than they were before, and the dark shades were more worn in the past and are more classic. Maybe that's just my opinion though.

Disagree. Anyone who wears black shoes with a navy suit is probably a filthy pigfucker.

I'd get navy and mid-grey suits for a start.

For slim pants try the Brooks Brothers Milano fit. Also Epaulet shop, Howard Yount, and some Bonobos pants.

Try Allen Admonds for your brown shoes. Since you're new to this you don't want to spend a lot of money and that's about the entry level for quality right there.

He said business casual. You're telling him to wear a black suit and shoes. That's about the worst thing he could do, man.

>>6615995

They're both fine. The chart was made by someone who thinks Indochino is a good source for suit photos. That tells you all you really need to know.

If you have a "few hundred dollars," you are not going to be buying shoes, "plenty of shirts" and a suit.

I would say don't break the bank yet, buy a couple outfits' worth of clothes and see how everybody else is dressing. Labels like "business casual" are understood in an infinite number of ways. There is a good chance management just means a shirt and tie and slacks, and a suit would be overkill.

I wasn't really planning a suit, but I find tucked in dress shirts with trousers just a bit plain. Especially if they don't fit just right, you look fucking retarded.

thats pretty much your only option for business casual. unless you want to wear a sweater or something like that over it.

It's hyperbole, but it's more or less true.
