I did solve my lace problem by buying some direct from oak street bootmakers. still need proper taslan laces for the bean boots, the ones on them are really terrible

also, need to get some white leather laces for the quoddy, I mean I'm never going to get anything else to work with white fucking eyelets. good thing I paid so little for them

my plans for future purchases include getting a pair of russell moccasin fishing oxfords and then I'm setting my sights on tricker's or alden

maybe a pair of proper sneakers someday but it might have to wait. My ambition is much bigger than my budget.

Not rich at all. Everything there copped on sale, at least half off retail or more, brand new. Those were bought spread out over a couple years, with other purchases too (had some Silent boots, work shoes, old Cons, etc.) that I've either sold or worn out at work.

Like, my CPs were <$150 (one of the earliest buys in pic) and Grams were probably about $200 all up for the 3 pairs.

Silent lows were around $100, the rest of the Silents, Damir, Ann D and Paul Smiths averaged $250 or less, and my most recent purchase was the Rick Owens at about $450 which was part of my tax return.

I buy only what I really find wearable a lot now, and most of my bigger purchases are shoes, which I'm now buying less often but nicer. Then pants, outerwear (still holding out for a really nice leather, knowing it'll be mad dollas) and I'll eventually replace all my shirts with nicer ones.

You too can do it on a uni-student no-benefits income if you budget.

In my experience of boot buying (when reviews don't advise buying up or down as in Red Wing etc), go up. As long as the widest point of your forefoot matches the widest part of the shoe (can vary depending on the 'last' used in the boot) and your heel is roughly in place, toe space doesn't really matter. An insole can help with the heel. Your feet and so your experience may vary.

i graduated from highschool when i was 16. i immediately went to work for my uncle and aunt who run a design firm specializing in textile based industrial design. I was a cutter and sewer for about 18 months before i started design school

great, i finished the most challenging classes that the school offered, and that was enough for me. i dont really take classes for a degree, more because the material.

i think he does a great job turning the art that he likes into clothes, he also seems to keep and maintain a very modern look every season. he always seems to blend a little bit of post punk into his stuff no matter what type of collection it is, which i really like. he has gotten so much less angsty with his designs but that doesnt really bother me

Almost brand new, but missing the (nothing special) leather laces since they squeaked and I was going to dye the shoes black anyway.

They come in a box, with a bunch of different laces if you like, I have some slightly lighter and slightly darker than the upper colour, as well as the black ones I was going to use to dye them with. I can even include that if you like, already bought it.
