How do you win an ebay auction?

>> No.6567558

Depends how much you want it. If an item I want is say, worth $500, I'll make my bid $1000 at the last second so I know I'll win, it can be a bit risky but if you have the funds it not a huge issue.

>> No.6567562

you be the last person with the highest bid

YouTube has some videos about good snoiping programs

When you win you have to say

Snoiped

Sniping doesn't save you money. And you hardly need a tutorial to use a sniping program. If you want to win an auction, bid higher than everybody else.

OP, ebay auctions are only good for buyers if they're after low-demand items that are overpriced on other marketplaces. If it's in demand, it WILL end up at market price or higher in a bidding war, unless you're exceptionally lucky. It's basic economics.

>> No.6567714

most ebay wins are via sniping programs

also don't sell on ebay, I used to use it to get rid of clutter, but I ended up owing THEM some money in the long run

I don't know man,

I put up a $450 jacket for auction, then buy it now, then put shipping as $50.

it didn't sell in 7 days, so I relisted it, then put a "sale" on it for 20% off and free shipping

it charged me to list the item twice, then charged me to sell it (took a cut of the jacket, and shipping, I did not charge the customer), shipped it out of my own pocket

after all the ebay fee's went through
I got hit with pay pal fee's

the kid returned the jacket, I had to pay return shipping on it,

I listed the jacket again for sale
then had to pay the fees over again

by the time I got rid of all my shit I was under like $200 and some change

damn, if you ever sell again you should:
- free domestic shipping
- no returns
- no buy it now / sale
- auction starting at 50% of intended sale price
- post link all over internet (sufu/sf/mfa/fa)

I had no returns, but the kid threatned negative feedback. and if he opened up a case SF told me that he could just write "received, not as described" because my "measurements were off" he could keep it AND get refunded.

so I thought hell whats $22 in shipping, and the what is 4%+ $0.50 to get my jacket back where I can make some money back etc.

honestly, I just donate shit now.
you know how rick owens makes you look homeless?

well there are a couple homeless guys who got a few rick shirts walking around san diego with goodwill shirts that happened to be from rick ss12

I like that picture because it highlights how much a haircut can mean to attractiveness.

Looks 10x better with hair, than bald.

after they return it you can cancel the transaction and click "buyer changed his mind" or w/e and thenn ebay refunds you the fees

u can probably still do this if it was within 90 days

>> No.6567871

eBay's autobidding function is pretty functional. Put what you would pay most for it, then leave it alone. It bids it up for you, but that will just make it go higher up. If you have a phone, download the app and you can start up the app, go to your watch list and bid on the item quickly.

Just don't be the dumbass that bids it to their maximum price limit when the auction has a ton more days to go, it might save you some money if you go all out on the last day, when some people forget about the item or can't access eBay as quickly as the app does.
Obviously don't go over your price limit.
Haggle the seller for a Buy-It-Now price. It really works sometimes. The worst thing they can say is, "You're wasting my time you little shit. I'll report you, fucker."

Bid the maximum amount you're willing to pay within the last minute or two. That's the best you can do.

>because my "measurements were off" he could keep it AND get refunded.

you can do this? I thought the buyer should give proof of return before ebay refund him.

I really want to do this one seller. mofo profiting on shipping fee.

>> No.6570221

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it more like a raffle than real auction IF at the last second loads of people outbid each other till the auction ends?

>> No.6570257

>>6567558

>at the last second

why? you can make your first bid $1000 and you'd still probably be the highest bidder. the page only would show the current bid anyway, not someone's max bid, so it's pointless to wait til the end.
