yep. i think i qualified that post well enough with the "non related /fa/ image"

>> No.6473153

do you even obenaufs?

>> No.6473160

Take a very slightly damp cloth, give it a wipe. Take a horse hair brush and brush the boot around to remove dust. Warm up your boot by letting them sit in the sun for a while, or just by rubbing them a bit with your hands. Condition with your choice. Obenauf's LP, Saphir Renovateur, Mink Oil. Let dry, and brush.

Shine if you want, but I've never done it before so you'll have to do some research on your own.

>Rangers are not workboots

Fuccboi statement of the week. Let me guess, you're 17?

>> No.6473186

>>6473164
youve obviously never done hard labour. i have a pair of tim pros that are workboots. the rangers in comparison are nothing more than wardrobe pieces.

anyways, what im wondering now is how to get the current layer of grime off the leather. i have polish, lotion, and oil for spiffing it up, but how can i clean off the grime first?

I've worked entire summers in a stone quarry wearing a single pair of $120 Dr Martens.

You're full of shit.

alright just finished. shoulda taken before pics cus they look infinitely better. started out by degreasing with a 50/50 mix of hot water and white vinegar, washing off any residue with a water-moistened cloth. worked in an assload of mink oil and hit it with a blow dryer on high to heat up the leather; could actually see it sucking in the oil. let it sit until dry. finally, hit it with some kiwi polish that really put that sheen on them. notice i didnt polish the tongues. i think they look fucking great now.

Those look great, OP.
I love the stage they're at.

>> No.6473809

>>6473793
thanks! yeah, thats the most work ive ever put in them, previously just used mink oil w/o degreasing or using polish. took like 3 hours but worth it.

im pissed i didnt take a before pic, they were almost matte.

Those look great. I'm thinking about buying a pair soon. There's a Red Wing store near my house so I'll try them on first. How comfortable are they?

>> No.6473945

>>6473908
extremely comforable, but i do have high arch insoles in them (i need it). only thing i dont like it the size of the toebox, can look a little goofy if your silhouette is tighter around the ankle.

>> No.6474214

>>6473945
I also had to get insoles and didn't like the toebox. I don't think it looks goofy though, it just felt like shit till I put in insoles. I'm normally a 10 and the size 9s fit a big big, gonna get a pair in black at 8.5.

>> No.6474312

>>6474214
yeah mine are a little big, i wear a 12 and ordered a 12 and its kinda roomy. not bad though, especially when im rocking some thicker socks in the winter months.

fuckgen send them back for repair to rw shop to fix em up

Confirmed for retarded, whitehanded, never did work neckbeard
Rangers as a workboot is shit. Doesnt compare to Halls or Hoffmans.

>> No.6475287

If you want a little shine but you don't want it to look polished then just buff it a little. Take an old t-shirt and bunch it up into a ball and buff the shoe. The edges and raised areas will be buffed a little more then the recesses. Open up the shirt up and buff the toebox by pulling it back in forth.
